Teresa Giudice’s ongoing feud with her brother Joe Gorga and his wife Melissa Gorga is still in full swing, according to their mutual good friend Dolores Catania.
“It’s definitely at a high stage of bad,” the Real Housewives of New Jersey star tells Page Six.
Despite the current drama, Dolores is hopeful that the Gorgas and Teresa, along with her new husband Louie Ruelas, can reconcile one day.
“I wouldn’t say this is terminal yet if I were to speak in medical terms,” she notes. “I’ve seen people come back from a lot worse.”
The drama between Teresa and the Gorgas went down while filming the finale episode for season 13 of RHONJ. During filming, a rumor claiming Melissa cheated on Joe came to light. This caused a major fight between the family and led to the Gorgas skipping Teresa and Louie’s August 6 wedding.
When it comes to the cheating rumor plaguing Melissa and Joe’s marriage, Dolores says, “I would never believe such a thing,” adding that she finds it all “very sad.”
“They had a very small family to begin with, and now all they have is each other,” she continues. “They weren’t raised to not get along. They weren’t raised to not have their families together.”
Dolores adds that she is “praying” for peace for the family, especially for the sake of the kids, who Dolores notes can’t be close until their parents mend their relationship.
Teresa shares daughters Gia, 21, Gabriella, 18, Milania, 16, and Audriana, 13, with ex-husband Joe Giudice while Joe and Melissa are parents to daughter Antonia, 17, and sons Gino, 15, and Joey, 12.
“They have beautiful children, both of them,” she admits. “And those children should be able to be together.”
“When things are emotional between people — as they are right now — you stay out of it, away from it, let things calm down, and then hopefully they’ll come back together at some point,” Dolores continued. “They’re different versions of themselves right now. I think it’s better that they are away from each other.”
For now, Dolores believes Teresa and the Gorgas are all happy to be pressing pause on their rocky relationship, which has seen many ups and downs over the years.
“This is years of things happening between them that just finally came to a head, a real head,” she adds. “To be honest, I think they’re both at peace with whatever this is.”
As for taking sides, Dolores says she doesn’t ever feel the pressure to do so.
“Never, ever, ever will I pick a side amongst friends unless something is done to one of them that is so egregious,” she confesses. “I love them all.”
RHONJ will return for season 13 in early 2023.
