Kyle Cooke is clearing the air after fans started spiraling over photos of him laughing with estranged wife Amanda Batula.

The Summer House star took to Instagram Stories on Saturday, June 13, after photos surfaced of him and Amanda smiling, laughing and linking arms while leaving the In the City reunion taping earlier this week.
Naturally, the pictures had fans questioning what was really going on between the estranged couple, especially after months of drama surrounding their separation, Amanda’s romance with West Wilson and the emotional Summer House reunion.
Kyle decided to address the speculation directly.
“Alright, some of you have your tinfoil hats on, so I’m going to respond to the picture of me and Amanda laughing and smiling as we walk out from the In the City reunion,” Kyle said in a video shared via Instagram Stories. “It was a pretty chaotic, action-packed reunion for a season 1 show, and you guys have a lot to look forward to, not only in the season but the reunion.”
Kyle and Amanda were photographed on Thursday, June 11, as they exited the studio together. In the pictures, the pair appeared relaxed and friendly, which quickly got fans talking given everything that has played out between them recently.
Kyle explained that the reunion itself was intense and that both he and Amanda had been put on the spot.
“Amanda was in the hot seat, and she opened up a lot more than I would say she did in Summer House,” Kyle explained, referring to the three-part Summer House Season 10 reunion that finished airing Tuesday, June 9. “I was in the hot seat, a lot of people were in the hot seat and we all decided to go get a drink together. Like, group therapy after you, kind of, leave it all out there.”
According to Kyle, the viral laughing moment was not a sign of anything deeper. It was simply the two of them joking about how it would look if photographers caught them walking out together.
He continued, “Amanda and I were headed down the elevator, walking out the door and just kind of laughing, like, ‘Can you imagine if there’s a photographer that captures us walking out together?’ And then, boom, that’s exactly what happened. That causes us to laugh even harder, and yes, that’s all that there was to it, guys. That’s all there was to it, my God.”
The clarification comes after Kyle and Amanda announced their separation in January following four years of marriage. Just two months later, Amanda confirmed her romance with Summer House costar West Wilson, who previously dated her former close friend Ciara Miller.
That situation became one of the biggest Bravo scandals of the season. Amanda and West were grilled throughout the Summer House reunion about their relationship timeline, while Ciara made it clear she felt betrayed by both her ex and her former best friend.
Kyle also had to process Amanda moving on with someone from their own friend group. He has been open about how painful the situation has been, especially as he learned more about Amanda and West’s connection.
Still, Kyle’s latest comments suggest that despite the messy split and complicated emotions, he and Amanda are able to have light moments together.
