Ciara Miller is getting ready to hit the ballroom, but before her Dancing With the Stars debut, she already had a major fangirl moment.
The Summer House star appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Monday, September 14, just one day before Dancing With the Stars Season 35 kicks off. While Ciara will not make her ballroom debut until night two of the two-night premiere, she is already getting familiar with her fellow celebrity contestants.
And one costar in particular left her starstruck.
While speaking with Jennifer Hudson, Miller revealed that meeting Julia Stiles was a full-circle moment for her because she grew up watching Save the Last Dance over and over again.
“I mean, I met Julia Stiles, and I grew up watching Save the Last Dance over and over again,” Ciara said.
Miller explained that the movie was a major part of her childhood.
“You’ve seen the movie 15 million times,” she said. “I would go over to my girlfriend’s house, and yeah, her name was Britney; her parents would literally put us in front of the TV and put on Save the Last Dance. That would keep us occupied for at least four hours. Rewatch it over and over again.”
So when Julia introduced herself, Ciara admitted she completely froze.
“I met her; she was like, ‘Hey, I’m Julia.’ I was like, I know,” Ciara said after taking a long pause.
Ciara said she could barely get any words out and only managed to tell Julia that it was “an honor” to meet her.
Despite feeling awkward in the moment, Ciara had nothing but kind things to say about Julia.
“She’s so cool, so sweet,” Ciara said.
Julia was not the only Dancing With the Stars contestant who made Ciara fangirl. The Bravo star also said she was excited to meet Jenna Dewan, who famously starred in Step Up and is also known for her dancing background.
“A star in her own right, Step Up,” Ciara said. “I mean, she’s an incredible dancer as well. She’s also so sweet.”
Ciara described the Season 35 cast as “a good bunch,” which is a good sign as she prepares to compete in one of the most high-pressure reality competition shows on television.
The Season 35 cast includes Ciara, Taylor Hanson, Julia Stiles, Harry Shum Jr, Jenna Dewan, Tatyana Ali, Ezra French, Connor Wood, Sarah Jane Nader, Amber Glenn, Tyler Cameron, Giada De Laurentiis, Conner Levitt, Guillermo Rodriguez, Maura Higgins and Jackson Olson.
