Jen Shah Sentenced to 6.5 Years Behind Bars

Jen Shah has been sentenced. U.S. District Court Judge Sidney Stein sentenced the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star to six and a half years in prison for her role in a nationwide telemarketing scheme. In July, Jen pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud for running a telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly and defrauded them out of thousands of dollars. Jen also received five years of supervised release after getting out of prison. On top of that, Jen was ordered to turn over $6.5 million. She is also required to make restitution of $6.64 million and surrender 30 luxury items and 78 counterfeit luxury items. Before being sentenced, Jen addressed the court. The mom of two insists that she is “deeply sorry” for her crimes and wants to “apologize to all the victims.”

According to Jen, she is not the  “carefully created and edited” persona people see on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

“Most people identify me with my public persona,” she said while breaking down into tears. “It has nothing to do with reality.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to speak about who I actually am,” she said. “I am Jennifer Shah … daughter of immigrants.”

She then thanked her family for her upbringing that was “rooted in … mutual respect, fulfillment of obligations, humility and generosity, loyalty and respect.”

“I have to come to terms that I have gone against these core values, and I am deeply sorry for what I have done,” Jen continued. “I want to apologize to all the victims and families, and I take full responsibility for the harm I caused and will pay full restitution to all of the victims.”

She added: “I recognize that some of you lost hundreds and others lost thousands, and I promise to repay.”

Jen has six weeks of freedom before she must report to prison. The reality TV star has been ordered to surrender to the Beauru of Prisons on February 17. The RHOSLC star requested to serve her sentence at FPC Bryan, a minimum security prison camp for women. This prison camp is located between Houston and Austin in Texas. Meanwhile, prosecutors in Jen’s case celebrated her sentence despite it being less than the 120-month sentence they requested.

“With today’s sentence, Jennifer Shah finally faces the consequences of the many years she spent targeting vulnerable, elderly victims,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement. “These individuals were lured in by false promises of financial security, but in reality, Shah and her co-conspirators defrauded them out of their savings and left them with nothing to show for it.”

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Wednesdays at 9 pm on Bravo.

On Thursday evening, Rinna announced her exit from RHOBH. “This is the longest job I have held in my 35-year career, and I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series. It has been a fun eight-year run, and I am excited for what is to come!” Rinna said in a statement. Rinna claimed that her departure was a “mutual” decision between her and Bravo. “After taking the time to weigh her current options and business obligations, Lisa and Bravo have discussed and mutually decided that she will not be returning to RHOBH,” Rinna’s rep said in a statement. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is expected to return for season 13 in 2023.

Lisa Rinna is turning in her diamond ahead of season 13 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Late today, the actress-turned-reality TV star announced she was exiting RHOBH after eight seasons on the show.

“This is the longest job I have held in my 35-year career, and I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series. It has been a fun eight-year run, and I am excited for what is to come!” Rinna said in a statement, according to PEOPLE.

This decision comes as Rinna’s RHOBH contract expired following the end of season 12. After doing some self-reflection, Rinna and Bravo came to the mutual decision for her to exit the Beverly Hills Housewives franchise. Rinna joined RHOBH during its fifth season in 2014. Over the years, she became most known for her iconic catchphrases, which included “Own it, baby!” Throughout her time on the show, Rinna became quite infamous for her savage fights with several co-stars, including Kim Richards, Yolanda Hadid, Lisa Vanderpump, Denise Richards, and, most recently, Kathy Hilton. Despite the constant hate Rinna received from fans, she “owned it” and lavished the attention – even if it was negative. At BravoCon 2022, Rinna was unbothered after getting booed by the audience during the RHOBH panel. “I got booed! It was fabulous,” Rinna told PEOPLE at the time. “I’m like a wrestler. The wrestlers get booed. The most famous wrestlers in the world get booed. The Rock [Dwayne Johnson] got booed, for God’s sake. I loved it. I’ve been in this business for 32 years.”

“It’s a TV show, for God’s sake,” she shared. “Call me whatever you want, believe whatever you want, I tell the truth. I always have. Go back to that.”

Government Adds New Evidence, Sentencing and Restraining Order: RHOSLC Star Faces Friday Sentencing

It’s not looking good for Jen Shah in RHOSLC. Just days before the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star learns her fate, prosecutors have submitted new evidence for the judge to consider before sentencing. Prosecutors want the judge to consider a 2019 restraining order before they sentence Jen on January 6. In the restraining order, a woman claims she had trouble with the reality TV star several years ago.
According to the feds, the woman contacted them via letter to make them aware of Jen’s past behavior, and they believe this proves how Jen interacted with others and shows her true character. Prosecutors hope this new evidence will result in a harsher sentence for Jen. In the restraining order filed in Nevada, the woman claims that Jen stalked and harassed her four years ago after the mom of two allegedly had an affair with the woman’s husband. The drama resulted in a blowout between Jen and the woman after the unidentified woman sent screenshots of texts to Jen’s husband, Coach Shah. After ignoring Jen when she tried to confront her, the reality TV star drove across state lines to address the woman in person. Jen showed up at the woman’s house at 2:30 am. The woman then called the cops and was ultimately granted a TRO. Jen’s attorney, Priya Chaudhry, denies the claims against her client. Chaudhry tells TMZ, “We have proof that this woman is lying about this alleged affair—an email from this woman to Ms. Shah’s husband dated four days after the restraining order in which she acknowledges that there was no affair. This scorned woman lied to the prosecutors in an attempt to exact her own revenge against Jen Shah.” She continues, “Jen Shah has taken full responsibility for her mistakes and accepts that she should be punished for them. It is sad that people with an axe to grind would use this moment to detract from justice.” The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Wednesdays at 9 pm on Bravo.

Prosecutors have submitted a 2019 restraining order in which a woman claims she had trouble with Jen Shah several years ago. The woman contacted the authorities via letter to make them aware of Jen’s past behavior, and prosecutors believe this evidence demonstrates how Jen interacted with others and reveals her true character.

The restraining order filed in Nevada alleges that Jen stalked and harassed a woman four years ago after the woman’s husband allegedly had an affair with Jen. The drama escalated when the woman sent screenshots of texts to Jen’s husband, leading to a confrontation between Jen and the woman. Jen showed up at the woman’s house at 2:30 am, prompting the woman to call the police and ultimately obtain a temporary restraining order (TRO).

Jen Shah’s attorney, Priya Chaudhry, denies the claims made against her client. Chaudhry states that they have proof that the woman who filed the restraining order is lying about the alleged affair. She mentions an email from the woman to Jen’s husband, dated four days after the restraining order, in which the woman acknowledges that there was no affair. Chaudhry suggests that the woman lied to the prosecutors in an attempt to seek revenge against Jen.

The plot thickens as Lisa Hochstein enters the scene. Lenny and Lisa Hochstein’s divorce continues to get uglier by the day. The Miami-based plastic surgeon has now accused his estranged wife of “abuse” during their marriage. “Lisa treated me like her servant,” Lenny recently claimed in a comment on Instagram. “She refused to help me with the smallest requests, yelled at me on a weekly if not daily basis, established a life completely away from me, stayed out partying when I was home, criticized everything I did (except working hard), shoved her friends who I disliked down my throat, embarrassed me in public in front of my friends and refused to do anything with me,” he continued. “One of the guys [Lisa’s] dating has been to our home, has vacationed with us, and has had a ‘friendly’ relationship with her for seven years,” Lenny added in his reply to a fan, “but I’m the bad guy?”
The Real Housewives of Miami star denies Lenny’s claims completely. Lisa commented on AllAboutTRH‘s post, about Lenny’s latest claim, saying, “He’s delusional.”  “I can’t wait to tell my story. [There’s] so much more to this story,” Lisa added. Meanwhile, Lisa then told Page Six: “After getting caught on a hot mic with no way to walk back his infidelity and nonsense, he goes to social media with his girlfriend, who’s a self-proclaimed ‘home-wrecking whore’ to make up lies. Lenny, I’m really starting to worry for you.” Season 5 of the Real Housewives of Miami is currently airing on Peacock, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.

If you’ve ever wondered why there isn’t a ‘Real Husband’ reality show – Andy Cohen has the answers. It’s no secret that, at times, the husbands of the Real Housewives make the show. Am I right?! According to Andy Cohen, the executive producer of Bravo’s reality shows, they did consider creating a show called “The Real Husbands of Orange County” in the past. However, they found that the husbands were not as interesting as the wives and decided not to pursue the idea.

Over the years, several husbands from the Real Housewives franchise have gained popularity among fans. Some notable examples include Don Gunvalson from the Real Housewives of Orange County, Mauricio Umansky and Ken Todd from RHOBH, and the husbands from the Real Housewives of New Jersey. These husbands have captured the hearts of Bravo fans with their entertaining antics and bromances.

Andy Cohen mentioned in a clip shared on the @bravowwhl Instagram page that they did consider creating a show focused on the husbands of the Real Housewives. However, he admitted that they found the husbands to be somewhat boring compared to the wives. As a result, the production team decided not to move forward with the idea.
