The longtime reality TV star shut down theories from Vanderpump Rules fans that both her and Tom are both secretly gay and in the closet. “I think people see my relationship with Tom … as nontraditional in a lot of ways, and they think there’s got to be more to it, you know? [Like] I’m in the closet, or Tom’s in the closet,” Ariana told Page Six. She added that she and Tom have always been “open about” the many aspects of their relationship, so “there’s really no other layers” to be uncovered by fans. In January, Ariana took to Twitter to shut down claims that she and Tom were in an “open relationship.” This claim was made by Ariana’s good friend Scheana Shay in the season 10 trailer for Pump Rules. “We don’t have an open relationship,” she clarified. “I’m really not that cool. thought that was obvious. #pumprules.” At the time, she noted she was “bisexual [but made it clear that it doesn’t equal being] polyamorous” when asked by a fan if she was no longer bi-sexual. Tom and Ariana began dating in 2014 after Tom’s relationship with Kristen Doute imploded over allegations that Tom and Ariana hooked up. While Tom and Ariana ultimately got their happily ever after, Kristen tried her hardest for years to split the couple up.
