Tensions and shifting alliances are nothing new on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, but Angie Katsanevas is offering a update on where she stands with two of her castmates, Lisa Barlow and Mary Cosby. In recent interviews, Angie provided candid insight into the challenges and growth she’s experienced both on and off camera during Season 6.
In an interview with The Daily Dish on September 17, Angie opened up about her rollercoaster relationship with Lisa. Things took a rough turn in Episode 2 of Season 6, when Lisa lashed out at Angie after hearing her name come up during an RV trip in the season premiere.
“Lisa and I, you know, we had our ebbs and flows,” Angie said. “We had some great moments, you know, I’d even say when we were in Greece, we had some great moments. But I think we all kind of surrendered to like, we were in this magical place together. Let’s have fun.”
According to Angie, the Greece trip provided a rare opportunity for the cast to let their guards down. “It was really spectacular to be there together,” she continued. “So I think we all let our walls down and had some great moments together.”
Still, not everything was resolved by the time the trip ended. Angie was honest about the current state of her friendship with Lisa: “Yeah, we’re not in the greatest place. But I wish her well, and I want to see her come out of this on top and still standing. As a business owner and a mother and a family person, I wish her the best.”
Angie also didn’t shy away from sharing behind-the-scenes insight during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on September 16. She revealed that Lisa was the “most pissed off” at her and co-star Bronwyn Newport during the season — but also suggested Lisa wasn’t innocent in stirring the pot. According to Angie, Lisa brought up the “most rumors and nastiness” as the season unfolded.
It wasn’t just her relationship with Lisa that Angie addressed. During the WWHL After Show, she opened up about how things are going with Mary Cosby, another co-star with whom she’s had an evolving friendship.
“I think we’re both learning to be more honest in the friendship. And we’re learning boundaries and honesty, and that’s it,” Angie said. “I think it’s a sisterhood, and I love Mary. And we’re growing and evolving like anyone would.”
She added, “We’re in our 50s, it’s a new friendship, but I love Mary. We’re both learning forgiveness.”
