As Season 3 of McBee Dynasty continues airing, viewers are watching the beginning of Steven McBee Jr.’s relationship with Allie Eklund play out on screen.
But while the show is currently airing the early days of their romance, the relationship has already publicly ended in real life — and now, exclusive text messages are giving more context as to why Steven’s mom, Kristi McBee, recently claimed the family felt “played.”
Allie was introduced this season as Steven’s girlfriend, with the relationship moving quickly. According to what has played out on the show, Allie moved in as filming began, despite the two only recently starting to date.
As episodes aired, Kristi McBee commented on a TikTok clip of Steven and Allie making their relationship Instagram official — and her reaction immediately got fans talking.
Kristi wrote, “We all got played by her. Doesn’t everyone see how she knew to act the complete opposite of Calah. She knew to play me like I was her best friend. We all thought this was real. We didn’t know we literally had a paid actress on the show. She was telling me she wanted to marry him right away. Wow…”
Many viewers questioned Kristi’s “paid actress” comment, while others have since accused Allie of coming across performative on the show.
Now, an exclusive source is telling AllAboutTRH where Kristi’s “paid actress” remark is coming from.
According to our source, before filming began, Steven McBee Jr. threatened to pull out of the show if production did not meet the pay demands being made by Allie’s manager, Mackenzie.
Our source explains, “Prior to the show filming, Steven McBee Jr. threatened to pull out of the show if they didn’t meet the high pay demands of Allie’s manager Mackenzie. Steven felt he was going to marry this girl and he wanted her to feel valued.”
The source adds that Steven was not trying to make things difficult for the show. Instead, he believed he had found someone he was serious about and wanted Allie to feel comfortable, respected and taken care of while stepping into his very public world.
In exclusive text messages obtained by AllAboutTRH, Steven explains the situation to his mom, Kristi, and makes it clear that he was frustrated by having to negotiate through Allie’s manager in order to make filming happen.
Steven wrote, “I just calmly told her that was the first and last time I have to negotiate through her manager to get to her. I said I understand the situation is extremely different and hopefully just a one-off, but that I absolutely wasn’t happy with how I met the demands of her manager using whatever leverage I had in a situation when Allie told me 5-7k was what it would take [to do the show] and then her manager then decided it was 7-10k and she was gonna walk.”
The messages appear to show Steven trying to do everything he could to make Allie feel valued, even if that meant using his own leverage with production.
In another text message, Steven says he would cut his own payroll in order to give more money to Allie and make the situation work.
Kristi then responds by saying she would cut her own pay as well.
That context is important because it shows Steven and Kristi were not trying to keep Allie from being paid. In fact, according to the messages, they were willing to take less themselves in order to make sure Allie felt comfortable participating.
In another text, Steven says he would walk from the show if needed because he wanted Allie to feel comfortable.
It is said that Allie Eklund got paid more money than Galyna Saltkovska, Kacie Adkison and Jesse McBee’s wife, Alli McBee, despite the women being part of the show for three seasons. According to the source, Allie was aware that she would be making more than the other women
That is why Kristi’s “paid actress” comment is now making more sense to those close to the situation. From the McBee family’s perspective, Steven fought for Allie, defended her, tried to make her feel valued and even considered giving up his own money.
At the time, Steven believed the relationship was real and serious. According to Kristi, Allie was even telling her she wanted to marry Steven right away.
But after the relationship publicly fell apart, Kristi appears to believe the family was misled.
While viewers are currently watching Steven and Allie’s romance begin on McBee Dynasty, the off-camera reality is much messier. The two have already broken up publicly, and Steven has since claimed Allie cheated — which Allie has denied.
