West has been in the hot seat ever since he confirmed in March that he was in a romance with Amanda Batula, who announced her separation from Kyle in January. The situation became even more complicated because West previously dated Ciara Miller, Amanda’s former best friend, making the fallout one of the biggest storylines heading into the Summer House Season 10 reunion.

Now, West is revealing that he and Kyle have spoken privately since the reunion and while things are not perfect, it sounds like they are at least trying to move forward.

During the May 25 episode of his podcast, Show Me Something, West shared that he met up with Kyle about a week before the episode was recorded.

“I don’t want to say it’s, I’m not going to say it’s good. Nothing’s perfect right now,” West said. “We talked for three hours on Wednesday.”

West explained that the conversation with Kyle was productive and much calmer than what went down at the reunion.

He continued, “It was not a gunfight. It was very calm and peaceful, and trying to hear each other and get to a better place. And so I really appreciate him doing that. One, just hearing me out. Two, just being nice about it. And then three, hopefully ending on that note, will be better for me because it was a much better environment to talk about everything than the reunion was.”

The update is significant considering how personal the Amanda and West drama has become for Kyle. Not only is Amanda his estranged wife, but Kyle and West were also part of the same Summer House friend group before everything exploded publicly.

The reunion forced Amanda and West to answer for their relationship timeline, how long they kept things from the group, and how their romance affected both Kyle and Ciara. Ciara has accused West of wanting to embarrass her and previously told Amanda that she could not believe she was sitting there upset that Amanda was involved with her ex.

While Kyle has defended Amanda at points, he has also had to process the reality of his estranged wife moving on with someone from their inner circle.

West also gave an update on where things stand with Jesse Solomon, who became emotional during the reunion while discussing the collapse of the friend group.

According to West, Jesse has continued checking in with him without choosing sides.

“Jesse’s really good on checking in with me,” West admitted. “He’s not by any means being an enabler or choosing Amanda’s side or my side, but he cares about the both of us and is still a friend.”

West said Jesse even reached out while performing in Missouri, West’s home state.

“He performed in Kansas City, actually,” West said. “And he sent me pictures at Joe’s Barbecue and stuff like that. So yeah, that’s good, too. It’s one of those things where I don’t want to force it, but he’s been a good friend through all of this. So I appreciate him.”

For now, West says things with Kyle are not fully repaired, but their three hour conversation was a step in a better direction.

And after the chaos of the reunion, even a calm conversation sounds like progress.
