Steven McBee Jr. is finally setting the record straight.
In a revealing moment with us on the AllAboutTRH podcast, the McBee Dynasty star opened up about one of the most questioned decisions of Season 2: why his girlfriend at the time, Calah Jackson, knew about his father’s FBI investigation before his own brothers did.

Steven didn’t dodge the hard question. Instead, he addressed the backlash head-on. And why Calah knew before them.
“I think they were mad at me for telling Calah specifically,” Steven explained. “Like they would understand if it was a normal girlfriend that would, yeah, would support you and wouldn’t use that against you when she’s upset. That’s what they were upset about.”
While fans and family alike may have had questions, Steven made it clear that Calah wasn’t just a casual confidante, she was his go-to source of emotional support during one of the most difficult chapters of his life.
“That’s why I have a lot of people asking me, like, why are you and Calah getting back together so often? I’m like, you don’t understand. That’s the person I went to behind closed doors. That was my, like, support during the good times. I never expected her to throw it back in my face when she was mad… But that was my person that I’d go to with that sort of, uh, you know, emotional support.”
Tensions between the McBee brothers have been simmering on screen, and off. At the center of the conflict is not just a leadership transition, but the shadow cast by their father, Steven McBee Sr.’s, ongoing legal troubles.

The Season 2 bombshell? That the McBee patriarch is under FBI investigation. Though exact charges haven’t been made public, reports suggest the case centers around financial mismanagement tied to the family’s massive Missouri farming operation.
Steven Sr.’s absence (and later surprise return) during the season raised eyebrows and placed even more pressure on Steven Jr., who is now leading the family business while trying to hold everyone, and everything, together.
