Steven McBee Jr. is opening up about where things stand with Galyna Saltkovska now after their explosive fallout on Season 3 of The McBee Dynasty.
Viewers watched tensions between Galyna and the McBee brothers reach a breaking point this season, with Steven ultimately telling her they were cutting ties. Things escalated even further when Galyna smashed the windows of Steven’s truck.
But according to Steven, things look very different between them today.
During an exclusive interview with the Roxanne and Shantel podcast, we asked Steven what happened after cameras stopped rolling and why Galyna is still involved with the family despite what viewers saw play out.
Steven said he has a lot of empathy for what Galyna was going through at the time.
“Galyna, I have a lot of sympathy. Empathy. I don’t know which one is to be used there, but I have a lot of sympathy for Galyna and what she’s been through,” Steven said.
He explained that the financial pressure surrounding the family businesses had created an extremely stressful environment for everyone.
“You know how much stress and pressure she is under, how much stress and pressure we’re all under? I wish people could understand, like, what that sort of financial stress does to you in the situation that we’re in. It puts you in a pressure cooker to where you never know, like, what is going to be the thing that pops you off or makes you explode, right?” Steven explained.
“So you’re just trying to hold it all in, put on this perfect facade to lenders, to business associates, act like everything’s okay when everything is certainly not okay. And then one conversation goes downhill and you, you know, you let it all out.”
Steven acknowledged that Galyna reached that breaking point during the confrontation viewers saw on the show.
“Obviously I’ve had that happen before. And Galyna had that happen in that conversation,” he said.
But after everyone had time to cool off, Steven says apologies were made and the brothers reconsidered how they had handled the situation.
“So after things had calmed down, it’s like, hey, you know, apologies were made. We understand that this is a crazy, crazy time period,” Steven said.
He then admitted that he and his brothers may have been too quick to place blame on Galyna.
“Us boys? Probably. We did rush to judgment. A lot of things get blamed on Galyna that aren’t necessarily her fault. And unfortunately, she, you know, takes the brunt of a lot of blame that rightfully or, you know, some of it is not rightly placed.”
Steven says that ultimately, the family viewed the incident as Galyna reaching her breaking point during an incredibly stressful period.
“So I think she just acted out. Had a moment where, you know, she beat the windows out my truck, and we ended up moving past that and said, ‘Hey, you know what? That was a conversation that was rushed. We shouldn’t have done that.’”
We also had to ask the obvious question: Did Galyna ever pay Steven back for the smashed truck windows?
“She did not pay for them,” Steven revealed. “I told her, you know what? That’s not a big deal.”
Despite everything viewers watched happen between them, Steven confirmed there is no lingering feud between the two.
When asked directly if his relationship with Galyna is good now, Steven responded, “Yeah. Yeah, we’re just fine now. We’ve worked through that.”
Galyna also remains financially connected to part of the McBee family business.
Steven clarified that while Galyna does not have ownership in the farm, she is still involved with the family’s car wash business.
“She’s never had any of the farms. That’s never been, you know, anything with her ownership, but the car washes? Yes,” Steven explained.
Things got a little more interesting when we asked Steven whether Galyna has stepped up since Steve McBee Sr. has been away.
Steven wasn’t willing to answer that one.
“I’m going to plead the fifth on that one,” he said.
Later during a rapid-fire round, Steven was asked to give the first word that came to mind when hearing Galyna’s name.
His first instinct?
“Crazy. Sorry,” Steven joked.
But almost immediately, he reconsidered.
“Maybe loyal. Actually, I want to give Galyna props. Loyal.”
Despite one of the most explosive confrontations of Season 3, it appears Steven and Galyna have officially moved forward, with Steven even admitting that some of the blame placed on her throughout the family’s financial crisis may have been unfair.
