Southern Charm is returning next month, and Austen Kroll and Salley Carson are already teasing a messy season ahead.

The Bravo series is heading into Season 12, with cameras once again following the Charleston friend group, including Austen, Salley, Craig Conover, Shep Rose, Madison LeCroy, Whitney Sudler-Smith and new cast member Allie Newman.
According to Salley, fans will see a different side of her this season.
“We dive a little deeper into our personal stories, which I’m excited for people to see maybe a more vulnerable side of me that they haven’t seen,” Salley told Us Weekly.
Austen added that it has been “a long time” since Season 11 aired last fall, so he thinks viewers will enjoy seeing how the cast has changed since then.
“It’ll be fun” for fans to see how everyone has “progressed in life,” Austen said.
But of course, this is Southern Charm, so personal growth is not the only thing on the menu.
The first look at the new season, which dropped Monday, October 5, teased drama during a cast trip to Maui, Hawaii. In the preview, Whitney Sudler-Smith claims someone in the group is accused of having a “love child.”
Austen hinted that the rumor may not have come completely out of nowhere, saying it was “addressed prior” before the bombshell moment played out.
New cast member Allie Newman also appears ready to jump right into the chaos. In the preview, Allie offers to show photos of the alleged baby in question.
Austen said he already knew Allie before she joined the show, and Salley did too.

“I knew Allie prior, so did Salley,” Austen explained. “You’ll definitely see their history and you’ll hear about our history.”
Still, Austen made it clear that knowing someone before filming does not mean they will automatically fit into the group.
“Of course, you never know how someone’s going to kind of mesh with a group like ours,” he said.
Salley teased that Allie may have started off on the right foot, but things did not stay smooth for long.
“I think she came in starting good with the group, and then drama happens,” Salley said.
Austen, who has been part of Southern Charm for nearly a decade, admitted he almost feels bad for anyone trying to enter such an established cast.
“It’s not the easiest, you know?” Austen said. “I mean, people have these long history and relationships, and trying to come in and be like, ‘Hey, I’m the new person,’ that’s tough.”
Salley agreed, adding, “Especially when you don’t have, like, a solid relationship going into it, you know?”
