Alexia Umansky opened up about a deeply personal trauma for the first time while competing on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

During Thursday’s episode of the Fox reality series, the Buying Beverly Hills star revealed that she had been “taken advantage of” during a past trip and said her family did not know what happened until she shared it on the show.
“I was taken advantage of,” Alexia said in her confessional. “My family to this day does not know. When you bring other people into it, it just becomes more than a conversation.”
Alexia explained that she had not been ready to talk about the experience before.
“Maybe a conversation is what I needed but I just wasn’t ready,” she said. “I was not ready for that.”
Alexia is competing on Season 5 of Special Forces alongside her father, Mauricio Umansky, whom she called her “best friend.” The show follows celebrities as they take on intense military-style challenges while secluded in the Malaysian jungle.
After two difficult tasks left Alexia questioning herself, she was pulled into tactical questioning by the Directing Staff. Once seated for the emotional one-on-one, Alexia quickly became overwhelmed.
“It’s just intense,” Alexia told the DS about the experience.
She also made it clear that she did not join the show for Mauricio.
“Honestly, it’s all for me,” Alexia said. “I want to feel proud of something. I want to tell people I have grit and strength and courage.”

She then added, “After what happened to me, it’s been hard.”
When the DS asked Alexia to explain what she meant, she hesitated before sharing something that happened seven years ago.
“I was on a trip with some friends and, you know, I was with people I trust,” Alexia recalled. “And I was put to bed because I had a little too much to drink.”
She continued, “When I woke up, I could tell something had happened. I didn’t even have the power or consciousness to say no.”
Alexia said the experience left her feeling “completely objectified.”
“I had a lot of pain and anger for that,” she said. “At the one-year mark I decided that happiness is a choice and I was going to choose to put it away, but it still hurts.”
After the tactical questioning, Alexia returned to the bunkhouse and told Mauricio and the other celebrity recruits what she had gone through.
Mauricio appeared confused at first as Alexia explained that it was difficult to talk about. Sitting beside her father, Alexia fought back tears as she shared that she had been “taken advantage of by a friend.”
Alexia told Mauricio that she never wanted him or her mother, Kyle Richards, to know because she wanted to “protect” them.
Despite the pain of discussing it publicly, Alexia said she has made progress in her healing.
“I have definitely healed,” she told the group. “I’ve come a long way since then.”
The moment marked one of the most emotional scenes of the season so far, as Alexia shared something she had carried privately for years while her father learned about it in real time.
