Ariana Biermann is getting honest about how money affected her relationship with Hudson McLeroy.
On the Next Gen NYC After Show, Ariana opened up about her split from Hudson and admitted that their financial dynamic changed once she began making money from the Bravo series.
Ariana revealed that when she and Hudson first decided to move to New York, she had almost nothing financially.
“When Hudson and I decided to move out, I literally had, I think like, $200 to my name, genuinely,” Ariana said.
She then referenced the financial issues she has previously spoken about involving her parents, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann.
“Obviously, we know my parents took all my money,” Ariana said. “I never got a dollar.”
But once Ariana started earning money from Next Gen NYC, the dynamic between her and Hudson shifted.
“He was so happy for me. It did get to a point though where it was kind of like, ‘You’re bringing in more money than I’m bringing in right now. I’m not used to that.’”
Ariana said she believes Hudson struggled with the change, even if he did not directly admit it.
“I definitely think that was a struggle for him at some point, whether he would specifically say it out loud or not,” she shared.
Still, Ariana made it clear that she does not believe Hudson was trying to bring her down.
“It wasn’t like he was trying to tear me down or whatever,” Ariana said.
However, she admitted there were moments that hurt her, including one event he did not attend.
“He didn’t come to an event with me, which really hurt my feelings a lot, because I was getting paid money and he wasn’t,” Ariana said. “But he was always really happy for me.”
Hudson also addressed the financial side of their relationship on the After Show, saying he tried to take care of things when they were together.
“I don’t let Ariana pay for anything,” Hudson said.
He explained that Ariana would still try to pay, even when he wanted to cover the bill.
“I mean, Ariana tried to pay for everything when we were together,” Hudson shared. “So it was like, her constantly pulling out her card and like, trying to pay the bill before I could.”
Ariana gave more context, revealing that she would intentionally order less food because she wanted to pay her own way.
“I only got a salad for six months on our dates when we would go on dates,” Ariana admitted.
According to Ariana, Hudson eventually noticed.
“And he was like, ‘Are you ever gonna eat more?’” she recalled.
Ariana said she always told him no because she did not want him paying for her.
“And I was always like, ‘No,’” Ariana said. “Because I always wanted to pay my portion.”
She added, “It wasn’t our first date, he didn’t have to split the bill.”
Ariana and Hudson’s relationship has been a major part of Next Gen NYC, especially as Ariana has opened up about growing up in the spotlight, navigating family issues and trying to build financial independence away from her parents.
