Steven McBee Jr. is addressing the awkward family rumor that surfaced on The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys involving his future sister-in-law Kacie Adkison.
During Season 3, Episode 7, Steven Jr. revealed that his sister-in-law, Alli McBee, who is married to his brother Jesse McBee, allegedly made a comment about him and Cole McBee’s fiancée Kacie Adkison. According to Steven, Alli’s accusation stemmed from her belief that he was “spending too much time around” Kacie.
Steven strongly denied there was ever anything inappropriate between him and Kacie on the show, and he later unpacked the situation in a July interview with Bravo Insider.
“I have had conversations with Alli,” Steven said of Jesse’s wife. “And I love her to death as well. She’s a sister to me and has been since high school. Literally since sophomore year of high school, she’s been a sister to me.”
From Steven’s perspective, Alli’s comment did not come from a place of truth.
Instead, he believes it came from hurt feelings and jealousy.
“[It] came out of a place of hurt and a little bit of jealousy,” Steven explained.
Steven admitted that he does spend a lot of time with Cole and Kacie, but said that is mainly because they all live on the McBee family farm.
“I do spend more time with Cole and Kacie,” Steven shared.
He explained that Alli may have felt some type of way after seeing how often he was with them.
“Alli’s seeing me post Blair and Kacie on social media, or she’s seeing how much time I spend with them. And there’s a little bit of hurt there,” Steven said.
Steven also noted that Alli and Jesse were not in the best place in their marriage, which he believes may have added to the situation.
“Obviously, her and Jesse were not in the best place from a marriage standpoint, so that contributes to it,” he said. “There’s a lot going on behind the scenes that added to why she felt that way and why she said that.”
According to Steven, he and Alli have since worked through the drama.
“We are completely good at this point,” Steven added. “There is no animosity whatsoever.”
Steven also recalled the moment he and Cole first talked about the rumor while hunting together in a deer stand.
“A deer stand gets pretty tight, so we were on this like little bitty bench,” Steven said. “Cole’s a big old boy, and I’m not very small either, so we’re basically sitting on each other’s laps and having this conversation about the rumors that were started by Alli.”
Steven said he and Cole both knew immediately that the rumor was not true.
“We’re like, ‘Uh, obviously it’s not even close to being a hint of truth,’” Steven recalled.
He continued, “And we know that Alli’s saying this out of a place of hurt and feeling a bit jealous. So, it didn’t have anything to affect us as brothers, for sure.”
While Steven says the speculation did not hurt his relationship with Cole, it definitely created tension elsewhere.
On the show, drama between Steven and Kacie was already building due to issues involving her beef tallow skincare business. After that conflict, Steven said he no longer wanted to speak with Kacie unless Cole was present.
Allie Eklund, Steven’s then-girlfriend, disagreed with that approach and felt Steven and Kacie should keep their issues between the two of them.
After Steven explained the rumor involving him and Kacie during the July 27 episode, Allie responded with concern.
“It’s a pretty bold statement to make,” Allie said. “Like, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Where the f–k did that come from?”
Steven, however, continued to shut the rumor down completely.
“There is absolutely not one single thing that would be inappropriate between Kacie and I,” Steven said. “Never has been, never will be. And now, this makes it f–kin’ weird.”
The rumor adds another layer to the ongoing McBee family tension this season, especially as viewers continue to watch Steven navigate his relationship with Allie, his bond with Cole and Kacie, and the complicated dynamics within the family business.
