Gizelle Bryant Says Roaring 20th Cast Is More “Authentic” Than RHOP As Housewives Reveal Their Costars Didn’t Congratulate Them

Gizelle Bryant is opening up about what made filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th feel different from her own franchise.

In a new interview, Gizelle reflected on filming the special Housewives 20th anniversary series alongside Vicki Gunvalson, Luann de Lesseps, Porsha Williams, Teresa Giudice, Kyle Richards and Lisa Barlow.

And according to Gizelle, there was something refreshing about being with women who truly understand what it means to be part of the Housewives universe.

“It’s nice to be with women that understand what we do and get it,” Gizelle said to People. “This is a very authentic group.”

Gizelle then admitted that she does not necessarily feel that same level of authenticity on her own show, The Real Housewives of Potomac.

“I appreciate that because I think on our individual shows, we don’t necessarily have that,” she continued. “I’m not with a group of seven other women on my show that are comfortable in their own skin and that are authentic.”

Porsha Williams agreed, adding that there is a reason Bravo chose this specific group of Housewives for Roaring 20th.

“And that’s why they chose each and every one of us here,” Porsha said. “This is the realest of the real. And that’s no shade to anybody else.”

Kyle Richards jokingly jumped in, adding, “Just a little shade.”

The comment got a laugh, but it also highlights what makes the Roaring 20th cast so interesting. Each woman has been a major part of her respective franchise, and all of them understand the pressure, criticism and chaos that comes with being a Real Housewife.

The women were also asked if their costars from their individual cities reached out after finding out they had been cast on Roaring 20th.

For most of them, the answer was no.

Vicki Gunvalson said, “I didn’t.”

Luann de Lesseps added, “Not one.”

Lisa Barlow also revealed, “I did not, no.”

Gizelle then admitted, “I didn’t even get a congratulations.”

Kyle Richards said she did not receive any phone calls either way.

“I didn’t get [any phone calls], good or bad,” Kyle shared.

Porsha, however, had a very different experience with her Atlanta castmates.

“Oh, the Atlanta girls were congratulating me!” Porsha said.

And if this interview is any indication, Roaring 20th may be less about forced drama and more about watching some of Bravo’s biggest personalities compare notes on what it really means to survive the Housewives world.
