Lisa Barlow is making it clear that reunions are where she shines.
The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th cast is opening up about one of the most intense parts of being a Housewife: reunions.
Teresa Giudice, Kyle Richards, Vicki Gunvalson, Luann de Lesseps, Gizelle Bryant and Lisa Barlow recently sat down with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM to promote The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th, where the women discussed whether they dread reunions or secretly enjoy them.
Andy kicked off the conversation by asking the women if they dread reunions or enjoy them, noting that Cynthia Bailey has previously said she loves reunions.
Kyle was immediately surprised.
“I’ve never heard someone say that,” Kyle said.
Vicki Gunvalson explained that her feelings about reunions usually depend on how the season went.
“If you had a good season, you don’t mind it, right?” Vicki said.
Gizelle Bryant admitted that she used to dislike reliving the drama after it already happened, but her perspective has changed.
“I like doing the scene or whatever happened, I want to be done with it,” Gizelle said. “I really don’t like talking about it again and reliving it, but I have come to actually love them.”
Andy seemed surprised and asked, “You have?”
Gizelle confirmed that she has grown to enjoy the reunion experience.
Andy then joked that Potomac reunions have become especially fun in recent years.
“Well, yours have gotten especially fun over the last few years for some reason,” Andy said. “I don’t know why.”
Kyle was still not buying the idea that reunions could be fun.
“A reunion. It’s fun?” Kyle asked.
Andy replied, “It’s a bit of a Kiki.”
Gizelle explained that the Potomac women can appreciate the shade together.
“I think the girls appreciate the shade,” Gizelle said. “You know, we’re all in the shade together.”
Kyle joked that Beverly Hills has not had that same experience.
“Oh, well, that’s nice because we’ve never had a fun reunion,” Kyle said.
Luann de Lesseps said that while reunions are long days, she has always looked forward to them because they give Housewives a chance to explain themselves.
“It’s a long day, but I must say I was always looking forward to them because, you know, when you want to say something that happened about a scene, you actually get to give your perspective and say, you know, this is how I felt, etc.,” Luann said.
Luann said reunions are a place where a Housewife can finally say what she could not say during the season.
“So, I feel like it’s a place where you can tell your truth, where you can be understood, you know what I mean?” Luann explained. “When you didn’t get a chance to get a word in edgewise.”
Kyle agreed, but pointed out that getting your point across is easier said than done.
“If you can get a word in edgewise,” Kyle said. “And also you don’t have everybody, you know, coming at you.”
Andy then turned to Lisa Barlow and said he could not imagine she likes reunions.
“Well, Lisa, I can’t imagine you like reunions,” Andy said.
Lisa disagreed and explained that she does not mind them because reunions give her clarity, even when she feels attacked.
“I don’t mind them because I feel like even though I’m the one under attack, there’s so much clarity,” Lisa said.
Lisa then made a very bold claim about her reunion performance.
“I feel like I win every reunion,” Lisa said.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star said she comes prepared with receipts and stands behind what she says.
“I literally, I’m like an accountant,” Lisa explained. “I have all the receipts. If I say it, it happened.”
Kyle then compared the reunion experience to being in a boxing match.
“It does feel like as you’re going through it, you’re like, you know, people come up and be like, ‘You’re doing great. You’re making good points,’” Kyle said. “It’s literally like boxing when you get counted down.”
