Despite behind-the-scenes drama that could rival its onscreen storylines, The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys is charging ahead, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled.

Bravo has officially renewed its viral hit for a third season, with filming set to begin this week per Variety. Yes, even as family patriarch Steve McBee Sr. faces legal consequences, the cameras are already rolling. It’s a bold move that underscores just how hot this show has become.
Season 2, which aired on Bravo from June 30 through September 1, saw the show reach new heights. According to Bravo, it averaged 1.3 million weekly viewers across platforms, a staggering growth that included an 82% increase on Peacock and a 213% spike on DVR compared to Season 1. The second half of the 10-episode run continued that momentum, posting gains of +16% on Peacock and +8% on Bravo through seven-day viewership.
In a statement, Bravo also noted that about one-third of the show’s audience “co-viewed with someone else on both Bravo and Peacock, making it a Top 4 Original Series of 2025 on both platforms — fueled by female viewers watching with male viewers.”

It’s no surprise that fans are flocking to this juicy, high-stakes family drama. The series has often been described as “if The Righteous Gemstones and Succession had a reality baby” — and the real-life stakes just keep getting higher.
While Steve McBee Sr. was a central figure in Season 1, legal troubles kept him largely off-screen in Season 2. He appeared only twice after pleading guilty to a “multi-million dollar fraud scheme involving federal crop insurance benefits he was not entitled to receive” between 2018 and 2020, according to a Department of Justice press release.
Prosecutors asked the court to sentence McBee to 41 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and more than $4 million in restitution. The charges stemmed from falsified reports related to the family’s Gallatin, Missouri farm, in order to secure unauthorized federal subsidies and insurance payments.
Still, the show must go on — and it is, in a big way.
With filming for Season 3 already underway, Bravo is betting that The McBee Dynasty will continue its meteoric rise. As viewers have seen, the show doesn’t shy away from real-life challenges. In fact, it thrives on them — capturing the raw, unfiltered dynamics of a modern-day cowboy empire.
And with Steve Sr.’s sentencing poised to make headlines, fans can likely expect even more gripping moments, tough decisions, and family drama that blurs the line between reality TV and real life.
