RHONY Legacy stars Dorinda Medley and Kristen Taekman fire back at RHONY’s Erin Lichy calls their spinoff “cute.”
Real Housewives of New York star Erin Lichy recently appeared on Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap podcast, where she was asked her thoughts on Peacocks’ Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy.
“Did you watch RHONY: Legacy?” the interviewer asked, to which Erin replied, “Yeah, a little bit.”
“I thought it was cute,” she added.
The diss didn’t sit well with RHONY alum and RHONY Legacy star Kristen Taekman, who clapped back in a video on Instagram.
“Cute? Cute is not the first word that comes to mind when describing RHONY Legacy. Maybe that’s a word you use in your twenties or thirties, but when you’re in your fifties and sixties, you use words like hot, sexy, stunning,” Kristen quipped.
She added, “Maybe you should watch all the episodes. Just saying.”
Kristen captioned the video: “Excuse me @erindanalichy, but I have such a deep respect for the RHONY OGs paving the way. Nothing cute about it. Love you, ladies.”
In the comments section of Kristen’s post, co-star Dorinda Medley chimed in, writing, “Very dismissive and disappointing.”
Seeing that Kristen tagged Erin in her post, the RHONY star replied in the comment section and insisted that she “meant no disrespect.”
Erin wrote:
“Meant no disrespect. I love Legacy and the OGs. The show was on the lighthearted side, which is why I called it that. I use the word cute all the time. I used it at dinner last night 5 times, and everyone kept poking fun at me.”
She continued, “I truly loved seeing them back together, and we should continue to see them back together. They’re incredible!! Xx.”
This drama comes amid gossip that Bravo is shaking up the cast for season 15 of RHONY. Rumor has it that Bravo is planning on meshing the new cast with a few former RHONY cast members to give fans the best of both worlds. This gossip is pure speculation, but it sounds fun to me.
Erin addressed the rumors while chatting with Access Hollywood, claiming that the mash-up doesn’t make much sense to her.
“I could tell you that were not like joining forces with (RHONY) Legacy. It’s not happening,” Erin claimed, adding, “I don’t think it makes sense because the other thing is if it’s going to be us and them, it’s going to feel like two separate groups that are like almost battling each other, you know?”
It’s unclear when the Real Housewives of New York will return for season 15 or when filming will begin. RHONY Legacy is currently airing on Peacock.
