OG Kyle Richards reveals that she’s not opposed to taking a break from RHOBH after a particularly rough season.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG Kyle Richards appeared on Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap podcast, where she hinted at the possibility of taking some time away from the Bravo cameras.
Host Lauren Herbert brought up the fact that Kandi Burruss of the Real Housewives of Atlanta recently announced her departure from the show after 14 seasons, noting that she now believes that this makes Kyle Richards the longest-running Housewife.
“Kandi, who is the longest running Housewife. She just announced that she’s taking a break. Kyle, I think now…”
“It’s Teresa [and me]; we’re the longest-running Housewives,” Kyle interjected.
Lauren pointed out what an “amazing” fete that is before asking: “Do you feel like after this season, you could take a little break?”

Surprisingly, Kyle admitted that she could see herself walking away from RHOBH for a bit after this particularly difficult season of the show.
“Yes, I do. I mean, there were times this season I thought, I’m going through such a hard time in my personal life, and I like to show up here every day, you know, and have everyone coming at me knowing that it’s going to air again and then live with the scrutiny and the public. I mean, of course, I’m thinking, why would I do it to myself?”
Kyle Richards has starred on RHOBH since the franchise’s debut in October 2010. She is currently the only original cast member to remain on the franchise.
Throughout season 13 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which was filmed in early to mid-2023, Kyle Richards tackled the ups and downs in her marriage to her husband, Mauricio Umansky.
On a recent episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle shared that she and Mauricio “need help” in their marriage. The RHOBH OG also revealed that she fears they won’t “end up together.”
In her confessional, Kyle said, “I’ve supported him through everything since day 1 when he had nothing, and when I told him that we are in trouble and I need you to work through this with me, I needed to feel like I was a priority and we were a priority.”
“If there’s no effort made or put into us, we’re not going to end up together,” she continued. “We’ll never survive this.“

Two months after filming for season 13 of RHOBH wrapped, reports swirled that Kyle and Mauricio had separated after nearly 30 years of marriage.
Initially, the two denied the claims but later confirmed that they were, in fact, separating.
Since then, both have been open about the fact that their marriage is struggling. The two are currently in therapy to work on their relationship and are not currently talking about “divorce,” but it seems highly likely that the two may end up splitting for good.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
