Lisa Rinna is opening up about the secret behind her nearly 30-year marriage to Harry Hamlin, and the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star admits that physical attraction still plays a major role in their relationship.

During a November 3 appearance on CBS Mornings, Rinna reflected on her longtime marriage to the actor, sharing why she believes their very different personalities have helped keep their relationship strong.

And in typical Lisa Rinna fashion, she couldn’t resist making a joke about being Harry’s third wife.

When asked what has kept their marriage going for nearly three decades, Rinna admitted that she doesn’t have a perfect answer.

“You know, people ask us that all the time and I don’t know,” Lisa explained.

She then joked that perhaps Harry simply needed a few attempts at marriage before finding the right person.

“You know, I’m his third wife so clearly maybe third time’s the charm, right?”

Harry was previously married to actresses Laura Johnson and Nicollette Sheridan before marrying Rinna in March 1997.

The couple shares two daughters, Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray Hamlin, who have both pursued careers in modeling.

Although Rinna laughed about being Harry’s third wife, she admitted that one thing certainly hasn’t changed throughout their marriage: how attracted she is to her husband.

“I think that it helps that he was really hot and is really hot,” she said.

But beyond the physical attraction, Rinna explained that their relationship works because neither of them expects the other to change.

Despite spending nearly three decades together, she described herself and Harry as complete opposites.

“He’s very serious and quiet, and I think he gets a kick out of me, to be honest,” Rinna explained.

She believes their different personalities complement one another rather than create problems.

“You know, I think that’s why it works is we allow each other to be ourselves, our true selves.”

The comments offer an interesting look at a marriage that RHOBH viewers became familiar with during Rinna’s eight seasons on the show.

While Lisa was known for her outspoken personality, dramatic confrontations and willingness to involve herself in cast disagreements, Harry generally maintained a much more reserved presence.

He occasionally appeared on RHOBH alongside his wife, offering viewers glimpses of their family life and their contrasting personalities.

Rinna frequently spoke about her husband’s love of cooking, gardening and spending time away from Hollywood’s social scene.

Harry, meanwhile, appeared comfortable allowing Lisa to take center stage while he focused on his acting career and personal interests.

Their marriage became one of the more recognizable relationships on RHOBH, particularly as several of Rinna’s costars experienced highly publicized marital difficulties.

Although the couple has remained together for nearly 30 years, Rinna has never suggested that their marriage has been completely free of challenges.

Instead, her latest comments suggest that accepting one another’s differences has been essential to making their relationship work.

And while their official 30th wedding anniversary isn’t until March 2027, the couple has already found a special way to celebrate the milestone.

During an April 2026 interview with People, Harry revealed that he and Lisa decided to celebrate their anniversary early with a romantic getaway.

“We celebrated 29 for 30,” Harry explained.

The actor said they chose to take the trip early because they were uncertain what opportunities for international travel might be available the following year.

“Because the world situation is not looking like it’s going to be amenable to having lots of travel fun next year,” Harry said.

He explained that the couple decided to take advantage of the opportunity to return to a destination they had visited more than three decades earlier.

“Uh, you know, who knows what’ll happen, but we took this little window of time, and we went back to a place we’d been to 32 years ago.”

But the most surprising detail was Harry’s admission that the romantic getaway marked the first time he and Lisa had traveled alone together in more than three decades.

According to Harry, raising their daughters meant that most of their family vacations had always included the children.

“What we realized about a month ago was that we hadn’t gone on a trip together, just the two of us, in 32 years because we had kids and we always went with them,” he revealed.

With Delilah and Amelia now adults and pursuing their own careers, the couple has more opportunities to spend time together without the responsibilities of raising young children.

The anniversary trip allowed them to reconnect as a couple and revisit a place that held special memories from the early days of their relationship.
