RHONJ OG Teresa Giudice is opening up about her time behind bars nearly ten years after serving an 11-month sentence for tax fraud.

So much has changed in Teresa Giudice‘s life since she exited prison on December 23, 2015, that it’s almost hard to remember that she served 11 months at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Conn.

The RHONJ OG and her now ex-husband, Joe Giudice, pleaded guilty to bank, mail, wire, bankruptcy, and tax fraud in 2014. Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in prison, which was later downgraded to 11 months due to good behavior, while Joe got 41 months behind bars.

Now, almost a decade later, Teresa is opening up about her time behind bars, her anger towards Joe Giudice, and more.

“I have to say the food was really good. And I actually cooked there,” Teresa shared during an appearance on the Hollywood Raw podcast with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn.

“I cooked dinner for everyone,” Teresa revealed, noting that she made things like chicken stir fry and banana nut muffins.

When asked how many people she cooked for in prison, the RHONJ star said: “First, it was a camp setting. I think there was maybe 200. My roommate was a politician. I was in there with doctors, lawyers. Yeah, I mean, I’ve met a lot of cool people in there.”

On the podcast, Teresa also admitted that she staged her prison release photo to make some cash.

“The only time [I made a deal with paparazzi was] when I got out of jail,” Teresa confessed, referring to her deal with PEOPLE magazine for exclusive photos of her prison release at 5 am on December 23, 2015.

“They wanted the first photo, and I did it,” she explained. “I was like, ‘If they’re going to get it anyway, I might as well make money off of it.’”

Teresa did not reveal how much she made on the photos but explained that she believes the deal was put together by her reps at the time.

During the podcast, the RHONJ OG then revealed that it “took a long time” for her to “forgive” her now ex-husband Joe because her parents died not too long after her release from jail.

“I came home, I lost my mom eight months later. And then my dad moved in with us, and he was so upset,” she recalled. “He cried for a year straight after my mother passed away, and then I had my dad with us for three years, and then he passed away.”

Teresa noted that she and Joe “don’t talk that much” these days but says she will communicate with him when she “[needs] him.”

It's true that they would never have been charged if she wasn't on TV. Teresa and Joe were made examples of. Just ridiculous. It must have been horrible for Teresa to have her so called friends and even members of her family turn on her during her darkest moment. And then to lose her parents. Teresa has always been a loving daughter and close to her parents. But she paid her dues to society as did Joe and the fact that they have been able to achieve so much in just 8 years is remarkable. And just goes to show that they should never have been jailed in the first place. Their children are educated. They don't do drugs and they don't run around. Teresa is successful ( and Joe seems to be as well) and the best part is they are HAPPY. Teresa is an example to anyone who is going through a really dark time not to give up. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

It only exists here for some or so it seems. I was on some site and it was hilarious reading and seeing all the negative comments there were about Teresa's family's (plus Aydin's) pictures they posted when they were in the Bahamas around New Year's. There were lots and lots of comments with about 95% negative, if not more. I think it was the Sun or something like that.

Oh, I've never seen podcast photos unless they've been here or two other places. The first time I've ever seen her not look bad was due to the hair she had at the reunion in April, however she still had the lips she purposely deformed. Once she lost weight, she made her face hideous. I've noticed something her fanatics haven't noticed and that she is miserable inside and that showed on her face big time at bravocon. She doesn't want to have to do this job anymore. Did you see the surprise interview at the beginning of bravocon with hard questions about Luis and her eyes started rapidly blinking for quite a while before Luis mumbled some BS. Pathetic and ugly woman and it is all her own fault. She looks like a character in a horror movie now.

To plead guilty only part or none of it can be true. As it’s a PLEA agreement or deal you’re reaching with the prosecution. Why does she STLL owe federal income taxes for 8 different years as recent as the 2021 tax year totaling close to $700,000? How much did she not pay for 2022? Did Luis pay his? I guess when a lien is attached to Luis's LLC house, we will find out!

From September 2001 through September 2008, Giuseppe and Teresa Giudice engaged in a mail and wire fraud conspiracy in which they submitted fraudulent applications and supporting documents to lenders in order to obtain mortgages and other loans. The Giudices falsely represented on loan applications and supporting documents that they were employed and/or receiving substantial salaries when they were either not employed or not receiving such salaries.’ In September 2001, Teresa Giudice applied for a $121,500 mortgage loan for which she submitted a loan application falsely claiming she was employed as an executive assistant. She also submitted fake W-2 forms and fake pay stubs purportedly issued by her employer. For a $361,250 mortgage loan that Teresa Giudice obtained in July 2005, she and Giuseppe Giudice prepared a loan application which falsely stated she was employed as a realtor and that she made a monthly salary of $15,000. In fact, Teresa Giudice was not employed at the time.’

I'll step up and say I fall in that idiot category. I simply do not believe Teresa was ever smart enough to realize exactly what was going on. She went along with it all because she trusted her husband. Many of us would see the giant red flags. We don't know how it was being sold to her behind the scenes, and for some, when you trust someone like your spouse, you want to believe they wouldn't hurt you or do you wrong. For Teresa, I just think she lacks a lot in the "smarts" department. Just my opinion.

Didn't she profess she was Catholic and therefore exposed to religion which teaches about "sins" and right from wrong from an early age? It seems the basics about it being wrong to lie or steal, etc are taught at an early age. She knew she was lying every single time she went along with filing bankruptcy and before and what she said or did when they felt the heat. She even chose to lie about assets after the bankruptcy was questioned. She will end up back in prison perhaps because she is still defending her irresponsible lifestyle.

It is because it is normal for her to lie to get what she wants, just like her ex-husband. It is so basic for them that he only regrets being on RH because he doesn't think they would have been caught otherwise. They are takers. So what if lying involves cheating and stealing or fraud. Did she know what the potential penalties were if they were ever caught? Not specifically and it probably never crossed her mind it would be prison so yes, too dumb to realize how serious their crimes were if caught but knew it wasn't legal to a point. She continued to lie to a judge during the process and that cost her and proves she is a greedy liar. She knew she was lying but not counting on being caught. If caught, the plan is to lie and do whatever it takes to get out of it and she tried. Refusing to live within their means was the problem and nothing has changed with her. She still owes federal income taxes between 2014-2021 to the tune of close to $700,000 yet goes on extravagant trips and has a husband who brags about all his money and bought a mansion for $3.35 million about 5-6 months after he met her. Then there is her over a million dollar annual bravo salary for only working 4 months!
