Heather Gay may be a lot of things, but a fairweather friend isn’t one of them!
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star will never close the door on her friendship with Jen Shah.
“She’s unlike any human being you’ve ever met,” Heather gushed to DailyMail.com.
“And as much as you think you know her and can predict her or judge her or evaluate her based on the show, it is one-umpteenth of the charisma, the magnetism, the star power, and the force of energy that she is,” Heather continued. “She is a superstar, and that doesn’t mean that she’s perfect. That means that she’s valuable and flawed and crazy, just like every superstar on the planet.”
Heather reiterated that she’s standing by Jen amid her legal woes, which could land her in jail for nearly 20 years.
“I’m going to be there for her when everyone is disparaging her and not showing up. When you show up for your friends in the times of need, and I want to be a good friend to Jen, and I will always be a good friend to her because I love her,” she said.
Meanwhile, in an interview with TODAY, Heather explained why she chose to stand by Jen amid her legal troubles, unlike many of the other Salt Lake City Housewives who questioned Jen’s innocence.
“That’s what a good friend does. Even if every cell in my body was like, ‘something’s not right.’ That’s not what you do when your friend is in trouble,” Heather explained.
“I wasn’t supporting Jen and her innocence as much as I was just supporting Jen in her journey. … If I’m going to be Jen’s friend when she’s up and Queen and MVP, I’m going to be her friend when she’s down, pleading guilty and facing sentencing. I will never shut the door on Jen Shah,” she continued.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City returns to Bravo on September 28.
