Alicia Carmody is clearing up one of the most shocking moments from The Real Housewives of Rhode Island — and the reality behind it is just as intense.
During a confessional on the April 5 episode, Alicia casually dropped a line that immediately caught viewers’ attention.
“I’ve gotten in accidents. I ran over a woman. I’ve almost driven off a bridge,” she said. “So, I’ve been there, done that with driving.”
When producers asked her to clarify, she doubled down.
“I ran over a woman.”
But in a follow-up interview with Us Weekly, Carmody explained what actually happened — and why the experience still affects her today.
“I was driving like 15 miles per hour because I was just coming from a red light, and this woman just dove in front of my car,” she said. “It was life-changing for me. It was crazy because I thought for 10 seconds I killed someone.”
The moment left a lasting impact.
“It was the worst feeling in the world,” she admitted. “I think that probably gave me PTSD. Accidents do happen, but it was just the worst.”
Because of that experience, Alicia says she’s still not comfortable behind the wheel in certain situations.
She revealed she needs to take “more classes” before she’ll even consider driving on the highway again.
The episode also showed her anxiety in real time, as she complained about driving over a small bridge and nervously reacted to other cars on the road.
Her castmates, however, say it’s all part of what makes Alicia… Alicia.
Kelsey Swanson described her as the definition of a Rhode Island personality, while Ashley Iaconetti added that Alicia is “sweet” and often “unintentionally hilarious.”
