Mary Cosby reveals why she ditched the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 2 reunion.
In a new interview with the BroughChat Instagram account, Mary says she skipped the reunion because she didn’t want to be “beat up” by her castmates. She also didn’t want to be grilled over her controversies, including claims that her church is a “cult.”
“I did not go to the reunion because I was not about to sit there and be beat up from one side of the story and of the narrative,” Mary said on Tuesday.
She added, “They said that I shine during reunions, so they held it back from me, and they wanted me to go off at the reunion and answer all these one-sided questions that I didn’t even see coming, and I said, ‘I’m not doing it.’”
During season 2, several of the Salt Lake City Housewives brought up claims that Mary’s Faith Temple Pentecostal Church is a “cult” and that she manipulates her parishioners into giving her money to fund her luxury lifestyle.
“I never got a chance to express my side, to say no one even told me they were talking about me, no one even told me they called my church a cult,” she continued. “I found out on TV. I found out with you guys; no one ever told me none [sic] of that.”
She quipped, “No one had the guts to say it to my face, all these false allegations. How on earth am I a cult?”
Mary will most likely not be asked back for season 3 of RHOSLC, which will begin filming in the next several weeks.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
