Emily Simpson weighs in with her legal expertise on her Real Housewives of Orange County co-star Noella Bergener’s messy divorce.

“When I first met Noella, I was very, very much on her side and believing her ‘cause I had nothing to compare it to,” the attorney told Us Weekly. “He’s not on the show; he’s not giving his viewpoint, so the only thing I have to go by is what she’s telling me. And of course, I want to support her and be a friend to her.”

Noella has accused her estranged James Bergener of abandoning their son; however, James has denied the accusation. The RHOC newbie filed for divorce in August 2021, yet James’ attorney claims his client filed for divorce in July 2021.  According to James, his divorce from Noella was finalized in December 2021 in Puerto Rico.

As more allegations have come to light in Noella’s divorce, Emily has changed her opinion on the drama.

“Now that all this stuff is coming out and he’s releasing statements, and his attorneys are releasing statements, I will tell you, as an attorney, I jump all over that stuff,” she said. “I read all of it. I listen to it. I decipher it. I go back through what she told me on what dates; I make timelines. So, I will tell you; I can blow holes through a lot of things.”

Emily also admits she took major issue with Noella’s living situation as she’s currently squatting in her rented OC mansion.

“Who calls their house a mansion? Let’s go there,” she quipped. “Like, what is this? Does she have a moat? Is there a dragon? Like, I don’t understand. Like, why does she have to say mansion? But secondly, as far as what I read from documents, the lease was up. I don’t know what their financial arrangement was — maybe he was only financially obligated to pay the length of their lease and then that was it. So, I don’t know. If she’s illegally squatting there, then she should find somewhere else to live. Maybe not a mansion.”

She then called out Noella for handling her divorce, while filming season 16, poorly.

“I do believe that that is kind of an ongoing theme throughout the rest of the season where it’s like, ‘Yes, we feel badly for you. Like, no one wants you to be in this situation, but you can’t be the aggressor and be hostile,’” she hinted. “But then when someone calls you out on being aggressive, [you] go right back into victim mode and ‘I’m going through a lot.’ I mean, Noella is interesting. She really is because she has a very wide range of emotion. So there’s a lot going on there.”

As for whether or not she still supports Noella, Emily admits the two are still in touch but says she doesn’t go out of her way to check on Noella.

“She will text a little bit and I will text back, and I don’t have any ill will toward her at all. And I do want what’s best for her and if she reaches out, I always respond,” she noted. “With the whole divorce, I think that there’s her side and his side, and then I think that there’s the truth somewhere that lies in the middle. And maybe even with what she considers her truth is maybe just a little convoluted or just because when you’re living it and you’re feeling it, you know, you always think you’re right.”

The Dubrows are putting the Real in Real Housewives.

A year after Heather and Terry Dubrow’s oldest daughter Max Dubrow came out as bisexual, their second daughter, Kat, is ready to share her story with Bravoverse as well.

In an upcoming episode of the Real Housewives of Orange County,  set to air later this month, Kat reveals that she’s a lesbian. While the 15-year-old came out to her family for over a year, it wasn’t until this year that she was ready to open up to the world about her sexuality.

“We’ve got four kids, they are different genders, different sexualities, and all at interesting places in their lives, figuring out who they are and where they belong as humans,” says Heather, who is mom to son Nick and twin sister Max, as well as Kat, and Coco, 11.

Sharing their family’s story and using the Bravo platform for good played a huge role in the Dubrow family’s decision to return to RHOC.

“I felt like our purpose is to keep those conversations going in other families,” says Heather.

Terry adds, “Coming out with your sexuality is something that broadly affects a lot of different people. We just want people to realize it should be part of normal conversations.”

Heather explains that her oldest daughter came out to her at the start of the pandemic and that nearly a year later, her second daughter did the same.

“I guess I didn’t make a big deal about it,” she recalls of Max revealing she’s bisexual. “She texted me and goes, ‘I’ve got to tell you something.’ I’m like, ‘What?’ She’s like, ‘I’m bisexual.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah. I know. Remember we talked about it?’ “

Kat “had been talking about her sexuality for a while,” Heather explains, noting that the 15-year-old was very low key about breaking the news to the family. “Kat decided to drop in our family group text, ‘By the way, I’m a lesbian. I didn’t see it, and I was mad because the dogs pooped in the house, so I wrote back, ‘Who let the dogs poop in the house?’ It was a total mom fail, and they’ve never let me forget that.”

“All I cared about was creating an environment where they all felt safe, comfortable, happy,” says Heather.

Max and Kat agree that their parents have fostered a space at home for them to safely explore their identities and have been very accepting, even if they don’t always understand things from the get-go.

“Even if she doesn’t understand something, my mom tries very hard, and she learns and teaches herself, and she grows with us,” says Max.

Adds Kat: “She’s asked me trillions of questions that really show she cares. She’s asked me about my pronouns. It’s really easy to talk to her. It’s not like I have to build up courage if I have something to tell her.”

However, Kat admits she had mixed feelings about opening up about her sexual identity on RHOC.

“I was really stressed about it,” Kat says. “But I’m really grateful that I have Max as an older sister, that she has already gone through all of this. Seeing my sister be so proud, and to see her be so comfortable with herself, it just makes me feel like I have nothing to worry about.”

“Even though our family is very inclusive and accepting, of course, you worry about what people [are] going to be like out in the world. And on social media,” Heather admits.

“It’s hard. Being unapologetically yourself, you just have to not care because it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. But that’s much easier said than done,” Max adds.

As for Heather, she thinks her kids are confident enough to handle anything thrown their way.

Heather Dubrow would love to see former costar Alexis Bellino back on the Real Housewives of Orange County.

During an interview with StyleCaster, Heather revealed which former costar she’d like to see back on the show. Oddly enough Heather said Alexis aka Jesus Jugs. Heather’s answer left everyone scratching their heads especially considering her contentious history with Alexis.

“There was a conversation about Alexis [Bellino] maybe coming to something. I’ve seen Alexis over the years. She’s great. I’d be happy to see her back,” Heather confessed.

Heather’s response is even odder considering her friend, and season 16 friend of the Housewives, Nicole James, used to be engaged to Alexis’ ex-husband, Jim Bellino.

Nicole dated Jim right after he split from Alexis in July 2018. At the time, Jim was spotted with a mystery blonde in Las Vegas amid his divorce from Alexis. Turns out that blonde was none other than Nicole.

Eventually, the two became engaged. In December of that same year, Nicole was spotted rocking a large yellow pear-shaped diamond engagement ring.

With Nicole now believed to be done with RHOC for good perhaps that opens the door for Alexis’ return however it would be even more fun to have them BOTH be on the show at the same time – talk about drama!

As for Alexis, she’s moved on with her fiance Andy Bohn. The two just celebrated their three-year anniversary in January 2022.

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind Alexis getting a second shot on RHOC. I don’t think Alexis is the same woman we got to know all those seasons ago. Plus, I think Alexis will be a lot more likable without Jim Chinny Chin Chin Bellino.
