Ramona Singer is addressing some of the biggest controversies ever faced by her and the Real Housewives of New York cast.
According to the OG New York Housewife, the season 13 RHONY cast, which consisted of herself, Leah McSweeney, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, and Eboni K. Williams, were not “unwilling” to “negotiate” with Eboni to keep her on the show moving forward.
“What happened was, if you see the last episode, we really came together as a team, as a cast, and I really wish that happened earlier where Eboni finally loosened up,” Ramona admitted on the Wednesday, Oct 19th episode of the “Reality with the King” podcast.
Ramona claims that when the RHONY cast wrapped filming season 13 in early 2021, they were “comfortable” with Eboni joining their circle; however, as season 13 began to air, that all changed.
“She likes to write things in the press, and the PR department couldn’t control her,” Ramona alleged.
“She would say things and give interviews that she shouldn’t have given, and she’d say things she shouldn’t have said that really were hurtful, not really truthful. It was her viewpoint, but it made us feel not good because we’re a team,” she continued.
The longtime Bravoleb also insists that Eboni went to Bravo with “unfounded” allegations that she was a “racist.” Ramona admits these allegations were “hurtful.”
“You can call me unfiltered, not polite, always in a rush. I forget people’s names, you know. Yes, I’m all of those. But one thing I’m not – I’m not a racist. The press picked that up, and they had a field day,” Ramona noted, admitting that life on the Ramonacoaster can be a wild ride.
She also addressed why the RHONY cast never had a reunion for season 13 and denied that it had anything to do with her refusing to film.
“People were saying, ‘They’re not doing the reunion because Ramona refuses to do it.’ And I’m like, ‘No, this is my job, my position. I always fulfill my position [and my] job, and I’m not afraid to do anything,” Ramona explained.
At BravoCon 2022, Andy Cohen confirmed that the RHONY season 13 reunion never happened due to timing and scheduling issues.
As for speculation that Ramona didn’t want to film the reunion because she was “afraid” to confront Eboni, Ramona says that’s “not true at all.”
“Because of that, our show didn’t film in September. Andy told me himself – because we have a good relationship – he said, ‘Ramona, we normally don’t start doing the next season until after the reunion airs, but we’re going to start after we tape the reunion, and then we’re going to start filming,” Ramona revealed.
When it comes to RHONY being put on pause by Bravo following season 13, Ramona believes that it would never have happened if the drama with Eboni in the press never “went down.” However, Ramona doesn’t blame Eboni; she blames Bravo since they ultimately made the decision, even if it was a bad one, in her opinion.
“I don’t think you can blame a person. I think you can just blame Bravo. Bravo made that decision,” Ramona said.
As for Bravo’s decision to reboot RHONY and create a “Legacy” featuring New York Housewives from past seasons, Ramona hates the idea and thinks it’s “ridiculous.”
“I don’t think it’s a good decision, to tell you the truth,” Ramona admitted. “I think it’s ridiculous, but that’s my opinion, you know? I mean, Bravo, listen, Bravo’s been very good to me. I got paid very well. It opened up a lot of doors for me, but I still don’t think it was a good decision.”
