Scheana Shay is giving fans a look into what’s to come on season 11 of VPR as she details her recent emotional sit down with Tom Sandoval.
Scheana Shay and Tom Sandoval‘s shattered friendship will be on full display during season 11 of Vanderpump Rules.
During an Amazon Live on Monday, the 38-year-old revealed that she and Tom Sandoval sat down for an “emotionally draining” and “healing” one-on-one sit down to deal with the aftermath of Sandoval’s affair with co-star Raquel Leviss.
As you already know, Ariana Madix uncovered Sandoval’s affair with Raquel Leviss in early March. Said discovery prompted Ariana to end her nearly decade-long relationship with Sandoval, which then spurred the cultural phenomenon known as Scandoval.
“I get paired with Sandoval to do this spiritual meditation healing sort of thing,” Schena revealed, per PEOPLE, about a retreat the VPR cast participated in during their recent trip to Lake Tahoe, CA. “It was very uncomfortable.”
Scheana notes that she believes the sit-down will “make good TV” because she and Sandoval “were not expecting to be paired together.”
“Wednesday filming was beyond the most emotionally draining day I have ever had in 11 seasons of Vanderpump Rules,” Scheana said. “My eyelashes hurt from how much I cried that day, my contacts were dry, I was congested, I felt weak in every way possible.”
The 38-year-old admitted that the conversation between her and Sandoval was “not easy.”
“I don’t like what he did to Ariana, obviously,” Scheana said. “Him and I have had a really long friendship, so everyone always [says], ‘Oh Scheana the flip-flopper, Scheana needs to have loyalty,’ and losing a friendship of that long has obviously been a struggle.”
“But Team Ariana,” she added. “She’s my girl.”
Since the news about Sandoval’s affair with Raquel came to light earlier this year, Scheana ended her friendship with the TomTom bar owner and vowed allegiance to her best friend Ariana.
In recent weeks, Scheana has come under criticism from fans for agreeing to film with Sandoval for season 11 of VPR.
Scheana found herself in hot water with the Bravoverse after she was seen posing for a photo with Sandoval in Lake Tahoe. Fans took issue with the fact that, in the photo, Scheana had her arm wrapped around Sandoval, making it seem like they were once again buddy-buddy.
The 38-year-old Vanderpump Rules OG quickly made it clear that she has not forgiven Tom Sandoval for cheating on her best friend Ariana with co-star Raquel. Instead, Scheana explains that filming with Sandoval is a necessary evil as they are both a part of the Pump Rules season 11 cast.
She also explained that when in Lake Tahoe, a fan asked the group for a photo because it was her birthday, so naturally, the entire cast jumped into a photo together and obliged, which is how Scheana found herself randomly posing next to Sandoval.
Ariana quickly came to Scheana’s defense and insisted that she was an incredibly loyal friend.
Ariana wrote:
“@scheana is an amazing friend who took a photo with a fan for their birthday. There’s been so many mean comments towards her for it, and she was just doing something nice. * We always try to stop for photos, and when the whole cast is present, it’s common for the whole cast to be in the photo regardless of what is going on between any of us at the time.”
However, Ariana is refusing to share any screen time with Sandoval as she has zero interest in talking to him since uncovering his affair with Raquel.
Sandoval and Ariana have only been at the same place once this season so far. Earlier this month, both were at SUR at the same time but steered clear of each other the entire time.
It’s unclear if producers will be able to get Ariana and Sandoval to sit down for a chat on camera before filming for season 11 of VPR wraps in the first week of September.
Vanderpump Rules is expected to return to Bravo in 2024.
