Shannon Beador’s two seasons on The Real Housewives of Orange County have focused on her marriage with husband David. This season, specifically, has featured Shannon and David repairing their marriage after he began an affair. Luckily, the two are doing much better!
Shannon sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss her marriage. She explained the difficulty she has with sharing her story with the viewers.
“Well, it’s hard,” Shannon said. “I thought that I would be able to handle it a little bit better. Some days I’m a little bit bummed about it. But bottom line is, it’s what happened in my life. If I’m on this show, I’m gonna show what’s happening in my life.”
“I’m a confident person,” Shannon added. “And I don’t like to see myself when I’m crying or in a weakened state. That’s not who I am, but I focus on the positive and where my husband and I are today and where my family is today, and we’re in such a happy place. So, that’s what it’s all about.”
Last season, Shannon told David that she wants to spend more alone time with him and do more traveling together. Shannon revealed that they are doing much more of that now!
“I just got back from New York — a trip alone with my husband!” Shannon said. “We go to church every week … He’s spending more time at home. It’s all good.”
Even though this season is especially difficult for Shannon, she did experience what she referred to as her favorite moment on the show during a date night with David.
“My husband doesn’t cry,” Shannon explained. “He cried for the first time when we put our dog down. I saw him cry the second time at the couples’ retreat when he broke down, and the third time he welled up with tears was at our Valentine’s Day dinner. And at that moment when I saw him tear up, I knew that we were gonna make it as a husband and wife.”
However, the show has also provided one of her least favorite memories with her husband: their fight in the golf cart at Heather Dubrow’s launch party for Collette.
“Oh my god,” Shannon said. “That golf cart fight — that pisses me off.”
