D’Andra Simmons, best known for her role on The Real Housewives of Dallas, has revealed that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer, and has already undergone multiple medical procedures as part of her treatment journey.
In an emotional Instagram post shared on July 29, the 56-year-old reality star opened up about the unexpected turn in her health:
“I didn’t think I would be the recipient of care at the UTSW Simmons Cancer Center my uncle Harold Simmons and his Foundation established almost 30 years ago, but now I have breast cancer.”
While D’Andra didn’t disclose the stage of her cancer, she did share insight into her treatment experience via Instagram Stories, candidly walking followers through her “very busy, packed morning” of medical procedures.
She detailed the first step, known as seed localization, saying:
“That way when the surgeon goes in, they’ll know exactly where to take the tumor out.”
The next phase, she explained, involved identifying the lymph nodes for removal during surgery.
“The next phase is the surgery,” she said. “I told you it’s going to be kind of a long day.”
Throughout it all, Simmons was surrounded by loved ones — including her mother, Dee Simmons, who waited with her in the hospital, and her husband, Jeremy Lock, who drove her to the medical center. Lock brought a touch of levity to the morning, joking they were ready to “get that s—t out of there.” Simmons, laughing, replied,
“What did you say? You said a bad word.”
The Real Housewives alum also reflected on her family history with breast cancer:
“I’m the 3rd woman on my mother’s side of the family to be diagnosed with breast cancer… that we know about.”
Despite the diagnosis, Simmons is keeping a strong and optimistic outlook.
“After today, I will add breast cancer survivor to a long list of life experiences,” she wrote.
She closed her post with gratitude for the outpouring of love she’s received:
“I look forward to telling my story to inspire others in the future. Thank you to everyone that has sent prayers and support to my family and me. We appreciate it so very much and love having your support. ???”
The drama in Orange County isn’t just confined to the screen. According to insiders, Shannon Beador made it clear she wouldn’t return for The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 19 if former castmate Alexis Bellino was part of the cast.

Though the season came with its fair share of drama and difficult moments, Gia said she remained true to herself. “I want this show to reflect who I really am — someone who loves her family, works hard, and is building something meaningful,” she shared. “I’m grateful for the support I’ve received as well as the growth opportunities that have come from this experience.”
Through the ups and downs, Gia also learned the value of slowing down and letting go of control. “I’ve learned to be more mindful and not as quick to react,” she reflected. “I also realized that I sometimes naturally go into ‘older sister protective mode’ instead of letting my hair down and just going with the flow.”

After calling Katie “worse than Alexis Bellino” and “worse than Tamra Judge” during a fiery confrontation on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Shannon is now softening, just a little. In a new interview with Us Weekly, the 61-year-old reality star admitted she might have been a bit too harsh.
“Well, I think you might see me very soon say maybe they’re equal,” Shannon teased, when asked if she still stands by her scathing comparison.
The drama unfolded after Katie, 41, admitted to secretly recording Shannon during a cast photo shoot, a move that clearly struck a nerve.
“I was very, very shocked and it’s just an odd thing [what] she did,” Shannon said. “I was trying to help her and give her advice so that she could make things OK with everyone. This is the bottom line. There is no positive explanation or positive intention when you secretly record someone.”
The confrontation aired during Thursday night’s episode, where tensions boiled over at Heather Dubrow’s extravagant birthday bash. Cameras captured Shannon’s fury in real time.
“You are the most evil person I have ever met,” she told Katie. “This girl … worse than Alexis Bellino. Worse than Tamra Judge. We’re done.”
Despite the betrayal, Shannon revealed she has no plans to take legal action against Katie.
“I’m not going to do that. It takes so much out of you to do something like that, but it crossed a line, and I felt very violated,” she said. “I don’t like that some people are trying to focus on my behavior that day.”

Having left the series back in 2013 after four memorable seasons, Gretchen and her fiancé, Slade Smiley, had made a clear choice to step away — and stay away. “We definitely needed that break. We got scrutinized a lot,” she explained. “We had no interest” in coming back to the franchise, largely due to the intense backlash they faced as a couple.
So when Bravo producers came knocking again, her first reaction wasn’t excitement — it was rejection.
“This round, they called and approached us. When they called, I actually said, ‘No,’” Gretchen admitted. And she didn’t say it just once. “I honestly said no three times. They kept making offers, and I said, ‘No, no, no.’”
Eventually, the network convinced her to take a meeting with executives when they were in town. That meeting changed everything. “They ended up making an offer that we couldn’t refuse, and we felt good about,” she said. “That’s why we decided to finally say ‘yes.’ That’s the honest truth.”
But Slade, 51, pointed out that the decision was about more than just the right offer. “There was more to it than that,” he added. “It wasn’t just because we had no desire to be involved with Housewives. It was because we had so many other things going on.”

I think it’s going to be different, but I don’t think different is a bad thing.” He also reflected on the challenges season two faced due to Jax and Brittany Cartwright’s turbulent relationship, including a serious incident that led to Taylor’s rehab stay and ultimately sparked calls for his removal.
Addressing the integration of Vanderpump Rules cast members like Scheana, Lala Kent, and Tom Schwartz, Baskin acknowledged the fan reactions: “I think it’s a super passionate fanbase, and it is amazing to me that we’re even a little bit removed from season 11 of Vanderpump Rules and those passions haven’t cooled, and so [we] certainly take note of that. I wouldn’t say that there’s any consensus, I would say that there’s a lot of heated thoughts.” He emphasized that these individuals “are very comfortable living their lives in front of the cameras. They’re used to it, they’ve been doing it for a long time.”
When asked about Scheana’s prominent presence on The Valley and whether the finale hinted at her continuing on the show with her husband Brock Davies, Baskin stated, “We’re making our plans for next season. I wouldn’t say we were trying to set the stage to do anything in particular, but again, Scheana is really friends with that entire group, and so you actually have to take pains, in some cases, to not include that group, or those Vanderpump folks, because they are connected to this group.” He also mentioned the desire to give other cast members like Jasmine and Zack more opportunity to shine, noting, “We’re figuring out where we go from here. Obviously, there are already changes: Jax isn’t coming back, so season three will be different just by virtue of that.”
On the revelation of Brock Davies’ infidelity—news Scheana kept private before season 11 of Vanderpump Rules—Baskin expressed regret that the show couldn’t cover this significant chapter. “We didn’t know about it. She kept it, obviously, under very tight wraps, so very few people in her life knew. And sure, I think it’s a story that we would have and should have covered. These are series’ about people’s lives, and they’re very much predicated on seeing it all, knowing what’s going on with them.”
Regarding the possibility of Jax’s return, Baskin remained noncommittal but supportive of his current focus on recovery. “Our thoughts first are we think that’s the right move for him to make, and we’re not thinking about what his future with the show looks like. We’re A) focused on making our show, and B) it’s sort of up to him to do what he needs to do, to take care of himself, and then that impacts the rest of it.”
When questioned if the audience backlash influenced Jax’s decision to step away, Baskin admitted, “I think in some cases the response from the audience is a good thing, and I think it forces someone to assess where they are and what they might need to do. So I’m sure that played a role in it, because the audience was very clear, understandably, how they felt about the situation… And certainly that’s something that we take into account, and he took it into account.”
Looking ahead to season three and the challenge of moving on without one of its core cast members, Baskin remained optimistic: “We have a really large and robust group. Jax is obviously a mainstay. We did spend half the season without him, and that period of time was really full and rich, so I don’t think that we’re [searching] for story to tell. I think it’s going to be different, but I don’t think different is a bad thing.” He also pointed out the risk of “telling the same story over and over again” and welcomed the new opportunities: “I think it opens up more space for story to unfold. And undoubtedly, with this group, it will.”
