Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Caroline Manzo confirms reports that Melissa Gorga said she was “too old” for the Bravo show.
Caroline’s confirmation comes months after Jacqueline Laurita first spilled the tea on Melissa’s insult. On Instagram, Jacqueline commented, “I think they are friendly acquaintances. Melissa always used to say Caroline was too old and boring for the show. (She’s not).”
Melissa quickly shut down Jacqueline’s claim, commenting on Page Six‘s Instagram post, “Not true- I love Caroline always have.”
However, it seems Jacqueline was telling the truth as Caroline recently confirmed Melissa did say she was “told old” for RHONJ.
On HollywoodLife’s Pay Attention Puh-Lease! podcast, Caroline admitted that the reports of Melissa’s diss are true. However, she insists she has no hard feelings toward her former costar.
“She said it. I remember when she said it. And I don’t fault her for it,” Caroline confessed, noting that she “heard” the statement and completely got why Melissa made the comment.
“Even back then, Melissa is what, 42? I’m 61. I get it,” she continued. “Okay. Back then, I was 50. And she was 30. So that’s from the mind of a 30-year-old kid. So how could I be mad at that?”
“You have to always kind of figure out where it’s coming from. Back then, I understood it, and now I understand it. So, yeah, she said it, and yeah, I don’t care because I get it,” Caroline explained.
Meanwhile, while appearing on a recent episode of New York Live, Caroline said that she loves Joe and Melissa Gorga despite them not seeing each other much.
This declaration came when the Bravoleb was asked who she considers her true friend from RHONJ.
According to Caroline, Dolores Catania is her “ride or die” and “true” friend from RHONJ. However, Caroline and Dolores never actually starred on RHONJ at the same time.

“I would say Dolores, and of course, you know, Jacqueline is my family, but Dolores, for sure, that’s someone that’s currently a true, true blue friend. And the others in, in my cast at least, there’s a lot of talk about Melissa going on about her and I and our relationship. I’ve got no problem with them. Every time I’m with them, I enjoy their company. We have a lot of fun, and we have that relationship that you could just pick up. I’m a lot older than them. I don’t expect to be in their circle. I don’t expect them to be in mine. So it’s all good. I would say Dolores [is my] ride or die.”
On top of that, Caroline also opened up about her shocking exit from season 4 of the Real Housewives Ultimate Girl’s Trip.
Caroline said:
“I can’t say much, um, only because it’s not good for my head space. It took a lot for me to go back there. [I was ] going back with the best of intentions, with the highest of hopes to do something fun. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me that way. I came home early. And at this point, I just truly don’t have the space in my head to talk about it, you know? So I’d rather not, but I would imagine it would unfold on the series when it airs. There’ll be a lot said then.”
As AllAboutTRH previously reported, Brandi Glanville was asked to leave the RHUGT season 4 trip to Morocco early after a series of incidents, including “unwanted” sexual advances.
During one incident, Brandi allegedlly “stuck her tongue down [Caroline’s] throat.”
Shortly later, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum “pinned Caroline against the [bathroom] wall” and then allegedly “put her hands on Caroline’s breast area and vaginal area.”
The encounter made Caroline uncomfortable and resulted in both her and Brandi exiting the trip early.
However, since then, Brandi has hinted that the claims against her aren’t entirely true.
“Brandi has been prohibited from sharing her side of the story, and in turn, people have only heard unsubstantiated versions,” Brandi’s rep told PEOPLE last month. “Brandi maintains her innocence and vehemently denies any wrongdoing.”
