Meredith Marks is opening up about where things stand with Mary Cosby after the heartbreaking loss of Mary’s son, Robert Cosby Jr.
During The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 7 premiere, Meredith and the rest of the cast came together to support Mary as she grieved Robert Jr.’s passing. Despite past issues between the women, Meredith says being there for Mary was never even a question.
“Everybody was there for Mary and I think in their own capacity, but there are things in life that are just greater than us. Bigger than us,” Meredith told Bravo Insider in a September interview. “And at those turns, you have to be supportive and strong, and Mary was incredible.”
Meredith said Mary showed incredible strength throughout the devastating process, and her main focus was making sure Mary felt supported.
“She’s very strong throughout the whole process, and I just wanted her to feel loved and supported,” Meredith said.
Meredith also admitted that any previous drama between her and Mary felt unimportant after Robert Jr.’s death.
“The minutia that Mary and I argued about was just insignificant,” Meredith explained.
According to Meredith, she believes some of the tension between them may have been connected to what Mary was privately dealing with in her personal life.
“Quite frankly, I think a lot [of] it was stemming from Mary managing what was happening in her life, and not really being 100 percent aware of some of the things that were going on around her,” Meredith said.
Meredith added that Mary may have been influenced by what others were telling her, but she does not hold that against her.
“I think she had people telling her certain things, and she believed it because, quite frankly, she has much more important things to be concerned with,” Meredith continued. “And not to let that go would be heartless in my view.”
Meredith also shared an update on how Mary is doing now.
“She still has stayed really strong through this process,” Meredith said. “Obviously she has good days and bad days. She’s human.”
Meredith said that while the women on RHOSLC can get caught up in smaller conflicts, nothing compares to the pain Mary is living through.
“There are bigger issues going on,” Meredith said. “And sometimes we get caught up in the minutia. And there is nothing bigger than a mother losing her child. There’s nothing worse that can happen. And it did.”
Mary has also spoken about how losing Robert Jr. impacted her marriage to Robert Cosby Sr.
Earlier this year, Mary told Bravo Insider that the tragedy brought her and her husband closer together.
“I had a really tragic thing happen in my life, but it brought my husband and I so much closer,” Mary shared.
She added, “I adore that man. I adore him. And I thank God for him.”
