Ashley Quai is making it very clear where her loyalty stands on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
The RHOSLC newcomer, who joined Season 7 as a friend of the cast, says there is “no way” she would have made it through her first season without Lisa Barlow.
“I f***ing love Lisa Barlow,” Ashley told Us Weekly. “She is the baddest bitch out of this whole friend group. She supported me. She kept me alive. She had my back, and she’s a baddie.”
Ashley did not stop there.
“That’s why all these girls do not like her,” she continued. “She is a bad bitch!”
Lisa has had a rocky road with several of the Salt Lake City women over the years, and her friendships within the group have often been a major source of drama. Most recently, Lisa’s tension with Heather Gay carried over into The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20s, where Teresa Giudice had to physically separate the two women during a heated argument.
But while Lisa may be on shaky ground with parts of the RHOSLC group, Ashley says Lisa never made her feel alone while filming her first season.
“I knew Lisa would be there no matter what,” Ashley said. “She is the reason I made it through this season.”
Ashley added, “Lisa has always been a friend of mine. [She] had my back when I needed it.”
Ashley also shut down the idea that there was any issue between her and Lisa because she was building independent friendships with the other women.
“We’re all big girls,” Ashley said. “Put on your big girl panties and let’s just do what we got to do. I can be friends with whoever I want.”
Ashley’s debut season comes during an emotional year for the Salt Lake City cast. Season 7 opened with a heartbreaking episode centered on Mary Cosby and the death of her son, Robert Jr., who passed away at age 23 following a struggle with addiction.
Ashley and fellow friend Britani Bateman were not featured in the emotional premiere episode, but Ashley teased that viewers will eventually see her relationship with Mary develop as the season continues.
“Mary, I love her, love her,” Ashley shared. “I just didn’t know if she was gonna like me or not.”
She added, “We have growth and all that too, and so I’m just glad that we are where we are.”
While Ashley is still finding her footing with the larger RHOSLC group, she clearly feels secure in one relationship.
