Robyn Dixon is sharing her honest reaction to Vicki Gunvalson’s behavior during the Atlanta stop on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
On Reasonably Shady, Robyn and Gizelle Bryant discussed the RHUGT scene after the X account Bye Wig Hello Drama shared a clip of their conversation. Robyn explained that, from her perspective, Vicki seemed uncomfortable, standoffish and uninterested in being at the party hosted by Porsha Williams.
“I personally felt that Vicki was uncomfortable at the party,” Robyn said. “I saw her and she was extremely standoffish to the point, I never met her before and the way she was moving or acting, I was like yeah I am not going to introduce myself to her.”
Robyn said Vicki’s energy made it clear to her that she did not seem excited to be there.
“You clearly are uncomfortable,” Robyn continued. “You’re not excited to be here. It was just a very weird vibe.”
Robyn then questioned what may have been behind Vicki’s behavior, wondering if Vicki felt less important because the event was centered around the Atlanta women.
“These are just my thoughts,” Robyn said. “Was she feeling I’m not important here because this was about Atlanta or because she hasn’t been around that many Black people in her life? That was my number one thought.”
Gizelle quickly made it clear that she was not going to take the conversation in that direction because she likes Vicki.
“Okay I’m not going to go there only because I do like Vicki,” Gizelle responded.
Gizelle said she thinks Vicki is more comfortable in familiar spaces and may have struggled because she did not know the Atlanta women.
“I think she is comfortable in spaces in which she knows people,” Gizelle explained. “She’s going there and not knowing any of the Housewives and she’s like in her mind, no one’s talking about me, no one knows me.”
Gizelle also pointed out that this is where Vicki could have made more of an effort.
According to Gizelle, when someone does not know people in a room, that is the moment to introduce yourself and engage rather than shut down.
Gizelle also noted that Vicki did not seem comfortable in her costume, which may have added to her awkward energy at the party.
Vicki’s behavior during the Atlanta stop has become one of the biggest talking points from RHUGT. Viewers watched as several women embraced the party, the Atlanta Housewives energy and the celebration of the franchise, while Vicki appeared more reserved and disconnected.
Tamra Judge has also called out Vicki’s behavior, saying on Two Ts in a Pod that Vicki should have made more of an effort to talk to the other women. Tamra said it “wasn’t a good look” and accused Vicki of recycling the same behavior and one-liners she has used on RHOC for years.
Andy Cohen also weighed in on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, saying Vicki filmed RHUGT before returning to RHOC and may have been adjusting to being back on television after a few years away. Andy also suggested that Vicki may have felt off after the Orange County stop, where she did not get the same hometown celebration that Kyle Richards received in Beverly Hills or NeNe Leakes received in Atlanta.
Robyn’s comments add another layer to the conversation because she was actually in the room and said Vicki’s energy made her not want to approach her.
Still, Gizelle pushed back on making it about race and instead framed Vicki’s behavior as someone who felt out of place, unknown and uncomfortable in an unfamiliar group.
And according to Gizelle, Vicki eventually turned things around.
Gizelle said that once the women got to Miami, Vicki became a completely different person and showed the version of herself the group ended up loving.
So while Vicki may have struggled in Atlanta, Gizelle seems to believe the RHOC OG eventually found her footing.
But Robyn’s first impression was clear: Vicki’s energy at the Atlanta party felt standoffish, uncomfortable and hard to ignore.
