After years of very public family turmoil on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, the siblings have recently reconciled — but not everyone is convinced it’s genuine. During a recent episode of Teresa’s podcast, Turning the Tables, Teresa and Joe responded directly to fans who believe the peace was made for production purposes or cameras.

One fan didn’t mince words, asking how they deal with people who claim the reconciliation was staged.

“I want to know how you guys handle, when people ask you if this peace was made, you did this because of production and because of the cameras and getting back on the show.”

“I mean, yeah. I don’t fake anything,” Teresa said.

He made it clear that if their reconciliation were fake, it would be obvious — especially when it comes to Teresa’s relationship with his wife, Melissa Gorga.

“You think Teresa is going to hug Melissa and come and hang out with Melissa?” Joe asked. “No, absolutely not. She’s not faking that.”

Joe went on to say that what surprised him most was how natural things felt once the siblings reconnected.

“And you know what was crazy? Those two, they got together and it went right back to normal. It really did.”

According to Joe, the reconciliation didn’t stop at surface-level peace — it extended into real, everyday communication.

“And they talk on the phone now,” he revealed. “You know, so I even talk, I was talking to my sister the other day. She’s like, I talked to Melissa. I’m like, when, when did you talk to Melissa?”

Teresa then stepped in to provide deeper context, reminding listeners that their history long predates the cameras — and the conflict.

“Listen, we’ve, we’ve been in each other’s lives,” Teresa said. “Well, Melissa’s been, yeah, I know her 22 years. Like she’s been with my brother. She’s been married to my brother 22 years, right?”

Joe chimed in to clarify the timeline.

“21 and then we dated, you know? Yeah. And then a year before that. So I, like that’s how I calculate things.”

Teresa continued, explaining that despite their issues over the years, there was always a foundation of trust and respect — something she says people often overlook.

“So I know her 20, I know her 22 years. Yeah. I mean, I, you know, I, oh, that was telling because I’m writing my third memoir,” Teresa shared. “Yeah. So I was writing something about her today.”

She then revealed a detail that, for her, proves the relationship was never fake.

“I asked her to be Gabriella’s godmother,” Teresa said. “If I didn’t like her, I would have never made her be Gabriella’s godmother. Like to me, that’s a big deal.”

Joe immediately backed her up.

“Yeah, it’s a huge deal. It’s a sign of respect.”

Teresa added one final detail that underscored the mutual bond.

“Yeah, so she’s Gabriella’s godmother. And I’m Gino’s godmother.”

Whether viewers believe it or not, the siblings made one thing clear: this peace wasn’t scripted.
