Kelly Dodd is no stranger to controversy, but this time, the Real Housewives of Orange County alum is making headlines over a fiery voice note aimed at her 19-year-old daughter, Jolie, that leaked online and set off a full-blown family feud just in time for Thanksgiving weekend.
The audio, which circulated widely across social media, allegedly captures Kelly threatening to expose private recordings of Jolie, a move that immediately reignited the longtime volatility between Kelly and ex-husband Michael Dodd.
Kelly, who shares Jolie with Michael, has had an on-again, off-again peace with her ex since their 2017 divorce. She once called their brief 2021 truce a “miracle,” but it didn’t last long. By 2022, the fighting was public again, and now Kelly claims Jolie — who is currently studying in Paris — has “blocked me on everything.”
According to Kelly, that’s why she sent a voice note to one of Jolie’s friends, hoping it would be passed along. Instead, the friend filmed herself vaping while blasting the message for social media — and the drama went nuclear from there.
The Leaked Audio
In the clip, Kelly unloads on her daughter and warns she’s ready to air out embarrassing receipts.
She begins the message by saying Jolie “blocked me from everything” and instructs the friend to send the note along. Kelly warns Jolie that she has “opened Pandora’s box,” claiming she has saved recordings of her daughter “screaming at your dad because he hasn’t taken you on vacation” or “because he didn’t buy you a car,” threatening to release them publicly.
Kelly also insists she’s supported Jolie financially for years — saying she’s the one who “bought you a car, paid for your college, paid for your health insurance” — before taking a sharp dig at Michael’s past dating life. In the audio, Kelly blasts him for “banging some f***ing loser” and alleges he put that woman’s children ahead of Jolie. (Notably, Kelly previously called Michael’s longtime girlfriend Laura White an “amazing step Mom” back in 2021.)
The voice note intensifies as Kelly calls Jolie a “dumb little girl” and claims criminal defense attorney Cameron Talley was “laughing at” her over the situation.
Fan Account Drama
Once the clip gained traction, Kelly began reposting stories from fan page @bravowoodx — which sided with her and called Jolie a “b****.” One viral slide mocked Jolie for living in a “fully luxurious” Paris apartment paid for by Kelly and insisted the teen “needs a cold hard reality check.”
Hours later, the same fan page posted a softer message, saying “all families fight and make up” and that no one should judge a parent’s love or anger. Kelly reposted that one too. Kelly later reposted more from the account.
Kelly also reacted on social media explaining her side of things.
The feud marks a dramatic shift from just a few months ago, when Kelly happily shared an August 2024 video helping Jolie move into her Paris dorm. But behind the scenes, tensions were clearly brewing. Over the summer, Kelly’s brother Eric Meza publicly claimed Jolie had “disowned” her mother. Kelly fired back by calling him a “psycho” who was “full of s***.”
Jeff Lewis also weighed in on Jeff Lewis Live, saying he didn’t approve of Kelly’s message but understood the emotional reaction.
“If I had been sitting next to her, I would’ve taken the phone out of her hand,” Jeff said, adding that Kelly was clearly “responding from a place of hurt.”
Jeff suggested there may be more to the story, drawing a comparison to another Bravo-adjacent family feud: “It reminds me of the Tamra Simon situation. I think there’s some parental alienation happening, and from what I understand, Jolie didn’t have a close relationship with Michael until recently. I believe a lot of this is being driven by the father, which is sad.”
He also claimed there had been a recent incident between Kelly and Jolie that escalated the tension: “There was a fight where Jolie was incredibly disrespectful to her mother and actually threw car keys at her face. I wouldn’t have handled that well either.”
Where Things Stand
At this point, the Dodds’ family drama appears far from resolved — and with the audio circulating widely, the fallout is still unfolding in real time. Kelly has yet to issue a formal statement, but she’s continuing to repost fan support and engage with commentary online.
