After months of speculation and emotional ups and downs, Alexia Nepola is finally opening up about why she and Todd Nepola finalized their divorce, even after seemingly reconciling.

On the Season 7 finale of The Real Housewives of Miami, fans were left stunned by an update revealing that Todd had “officially divorced” Alexia after filming wrapped. But what happened after that wasn’t so simple.
In a candid moment on The Real Housewives of Miami After Show, Alexia explained what really led to the divorce, despite their continued back-and-forth.
“I feel like it was something that he started and he had to finish,” she revealed. “I didn’t fight it.”
Still, Alexia made it clear the decision wasn’t entirely Todd’s.
“We both felt like, you know what? Marriage didn’t work out for us; maybe, you know, this is what’s best for us.”
For Alexia, the goal was peace.
“I just wanted to be at peace,” she said, explaining again why she didn’t resist the split. “I just think that there’s, like, a lot to unpack…”
In fact, according to Alexia, the emotional complexity continued even after they officially signed the papers. The couple finalized their divorce in March 2025, but Alexia admitted that wasn’t the end of their story.

“We continued to see each other,” she said on the After Show.
However, once the new season began airing, things shifted again.
“Now, when the show started airing again, I feel like it’s best for both of us that we take a little break and just let the whole season play out, and let’s see where we land,” Alexia explained. “It’s really hard to be together right now, watching the show and reliving this.”
That confession led to a dramatic reaction from Alexia’s longtime friend and RHOM castmate, Marysol Patton.
“I thought you were done,” Marysol said in disbelief. “Now, you’re saying, like, ‘Let’s see how it plays out.’ I’m shocked.”
Alexia, however, is embracing the ambiguity in her relationship with Todd, noting that she’s surrendering to a higher power.
“I’m not saying that I’m done or I’m not… It’s a process,” she said, while Marysol facepalmed. “I don’t have an on and off button that you just switch it off and, like, ‘I love you today, and I don’t love you tomorrow.’”
Despite all the uncertainty, Alexia tried to clarify her intentions.
“I never said there’s a possibility [we’ll reconcile],” she stated. “But I didn’t say that was not a possibility, either. My mind just works in different ways.”
Meanwhile, viewers also learned a major source of unresolved tension: Todd still hasn’t apologized to Alexia’s adult sons, Peter and Frankie Rosello, “for the way he left her.”
As for her future on The Real Housewives of Miami, fans were left guessing after a cryptic Instagram post Alexia shared following the finale:
“Miami, you’ve seen it all—my truth, my struggles, my heart. Tonight we close this chapter and I just want to say: THANK YOU for every message, every hug, every ounce of love.”
Will this truly be the end of Alexia’s journey with Todd—or her time on RHOM altogether? Only time will tell. As Alexia says, “It’s a process.”
