Ramona Singer, the former star of Real Housewives of New York, is well-known for her sometimes blunt and socially awkward behavior. So it came as little surprise when the 68-year-old’s lack of tact was on full display during a recent encounter at a party.

What made the situation more surprising was who the “fan” actually was none other than Hollywood actress Emma Roberts. When Roberts approached Ramona Singer to say hello, the reality TV personality initially brushed her off. Singer later realized the mistake and quickly tried to make amends after her daughter Avery encouraged her to do so.

In a video Singer shared on social media, she exclaimed, “So guess who I ran into!” before pulling Roberts into view and adding, “She wanted to say hi to me and I said, ‘NOT now!’”

Roberts responded with a laugh, saying, “I’m a big fan and she said, ‘Get away! NO!’” She then mimicked Singer by putting her palm out as if to push her away, illustrating how Singer had dismissed her.

Avery then stepped in, telling her mother, “You need to go fix it because you have no idea who you just shooed away!” After giving Singer a little tough love, Avery went over to Roberts to apologize on her mom’s behalf.

Roberts chimed in again, saying, “And now we’re BFFs. All of us!”

Emma Roberts is known for her love of Real Housewives and has even been spotted hanging out with Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay.

Ramona herself has been open about her complicated relationship with fame. Last year, she admitted that she “never liked being famous” and felt much happier after leaving the show. She was an original cast member of RHONY, which launched in 2008, but was let go during the reboot in 2021.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Singer shared her thoughts: “I never liked being famous. Isn’t there a saying, ‘fame isn’t what it’s all cracked up to be?’” She added, “I don’t think I was really famous, but I guess I was sort of.”

Ramona also expressed sympathy for A-list celebrities who are constantly followed by paparazzi. She recalled a vacation with her ex-husband Mario Singer, saying, “I was on vacation once with my ex-husband, and [people] were in the trees, taking photos.”

She concluded, “I don’t think fame is great, but I guess you have to get famous to be successful in entertainment.”

This is not the first time Ramona Singer has spoken about her experience with the spotlight. In March 2023, she told DailyMail.com, “I haven’t been on TV in two years now and I’m more relaxed now, I’m happier.” She went on to say, “I don’t have to deal with negative things being put out there that isn’t true.”
