Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick are setting the record straight after rumors began circulating that the couple had secretly called it quits.
The Valley stars found themselves at the center of breakup speculation after an anonymous Reddit user claimed to have inside information that Kristen and Luke had separated and were preparing to announce the news.
But rather than ignoring the rumors, both Kristen and Luke quickly responded, making it clear that there was no truth to the claims.
On Tuesday, October 21, Luke shared a screenshot of the Reddit post, which claimed, “I have unverifiable confirmation Kristen & Luke have split & will announce soon.”
The anonymous poster continued, “Unfortunately, I can’t share my source, but it was confirmed to me they split & will announce soon.”
Luke appeared amused by the speculation, responding with four laughing emojis before tagging Kristen.
“😂😂😂😂. Love you @KristenDoute❤️”
The post came just hours after Luke had shared a much different glimpse into their relationship.
Earlier that day, he reposted Kristen’s Instagram Story showing the couple preparing for a photo shoot alongside their daughter, Kaia, and their dog.
Kristen shared that the family had been working on an upcoming magazine feature.
“Great day shooting with @Dear.mome Magazine,” she wrote. “Can’t wait for everyone to see the interview.”
The family photo shoot appeared to contradict the anonymous claims that a breakup announcement was imminent.
Kristen also addressed the speculation directly on Wednesday, October 21, expressing frustration that an unverified Reddit post had gained so much attention.
“You guys, it’s a f***ing REDDIT RUMOR,” Kristen wrote.
“Since when did we start believing what we read on Reddit?”
Luke then added some humor to the situation.
“However, we did split a salad at lunch today. 😘”
The playful response made it clear that the couple was not taking the breakup rumors seriously.
Kristen and Luke’s relationship has been a major part of their storyline on The Valley, particularly as viewers watched them navigate major life changes together.
The couple began dating in 2022 after meeting at a mutual friend’s wedding, and their relationship quickly became serious despite the challenges of managing their lives in different states.
Their journey toward starting a family also became an important part of Kristen’s story.
Kristen has spoken openly about her desire to become a mother, including the emotional challenges she faced while trying to conceive.
The couple announced their engagement in 2024 after Luke proposed during a romantic getaway in Hawaii.
Later that year, they shared that they were expecting their first child together, a particularly meaningful announcement after Kristen previously opened up about experiencing a pregnancy loss.
In June 2025, Kristen and Luke welcomed their daughter, Kaia Lily.
Since becoming parents, the couple has continued sharing glimpses of their life together while balancing parenthood, their relationship and filming The Valley.
Their relationship has not been without challenges, however, and viewers have watched them navigate disagreements about their future and the responsibilities that come with building a family.
Still, both have made it clear that they remain committed to their relationship.
And while reality television couples are often the subject of breakup speculation, Kristen and Luke were quick to challenge this particular rumor before it gained even more traction.
