The Instagram account Dustin Cone posted about Brooks’ fashion line with the caption, “Meredith Marks got SCAMMED by her son 😅,” adding hashtags for Next Gen NYC, Bravo and RHOSLC.

The post quickly sparked conversation among fans, especially because Brooks’ tracksuits have been a Bravo talking point since the early seasons of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

But Brooks’ dad, Seth Marks, was not staying quiet.

Seth jumped into the comments to defend Brooks and explain that viewers may not be seeing the full picture when it comes to the work Brooks has put into his brand.

“I’m a little behind on the NextGen episodes planning to binge them but I’m not sure they captured the patented material he created, so let me say it properly,” Seth wrote.

He then explained that Brooks’ tracksuit is not just an ordinary tracksuit.

“This tracksuit is made from TerryLite™, a proprietary fabric Brooks Marks developed. It’s lighter, stretchier, more breathable, and way more elevated than your average terry cloth,” Seth continued. “The detail is subtle, but it is there, and it makes the whole thing feel different.”

Seth made it clear that he is proud of Brooks for creating something beyond just a Bravo fashion moment.

“I’m super proud of him for developing protectable intellectual property that, above all, can be worn by anyone,” Seth wrote.

He also pushed back on the idea that fashion always needs to be over-the-top or unrealistic.

“From my POV, fashion does not always need to be a runway fantasy that not everybody can wear. It can be for real life: airports, errands, couch days, travel days, late nights, and everything in between.”

Seth ended his comment by praising the inclusivity of Brooks’ brand while also giving a sweet shoutout to Meredith Marks.

“No gender. No rules. Just good humans with positive vibes who want to look good and wear something that feels as good as his mom looks.”

The post quickly had fans talking, with many questioning Brooks’ fashion line and whether the tracksuit shown on Next Gen NYC looked elevated enough to justify the price or hype.

One fan brought up Brooks’ earlier RHOSLC days, writing, “OMG, those are the same track suits he showed off on the first season of SLC and Jen Shah read him to filth!!!”

Another viewer was more blunt about not wanting to see Brooks on the show.

“I need Brooks off the show. He doesn’t add anything to the show. He’s an example of never had to achieve anything on his own,” the fan wrote.

A third fan compared the tracksuit debate to something Nina Garcia might say.

“As Nina Garcia would say, this isn’t fashion. This is just clothes.”

Brooks has been part of the Bravo world for years thanks to his mom Meredith Marks’ longtime role on RHOSLC. Viewers first met him during the early seasons of Salt Lake City, where his tracksuits became a major talking point among the cast and fans.
