Antonia Gorga is being honest about what it really felt like to reunite with the Giudice girls after years of distance between their families.
During an emotional conversation with her cousin Gia Giudice on the Casual Chaos podcast, Antonia opened up about the Gorga-Giudice family finally coming back together after years of very public estrangement on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
While the reconciliation has been a happy one for the family, Antonia admitted that walking back into those relationships was not instantly easy.
Gia asked Antonia how she felt about spending their first Christmas together again after so much time apart.
“Were you excited for our first Christmas back together last year?” Gia asked.
Antonia admitted she had mixed emotions.
“So I was a little iffy about it, to be honest,” Antonia said. “From our conversation. I was just on edge.”
Antonia explained that after years of hearing different things from different people, she did not know what to believe anymore.
“You hear everything that everyone is saying and you don’t know what to believe and whatnot,” Antonia shared. “Especially like what I’ve been hearing from other people, I don’t know, I was just so iffy.”
The RHONJ kids have grown up with their family drama playing out publicly. For years, viewers watched the fallout between Teresa Giudice, Joe Gorga and Melissa Gorga become one of the biggest storylines on the show. While the adults were at odds, the cousins were also affected by the distance between the families.
Antonia said that made her question whether she was ready to let everyone back in.
“I was like, do I want to let them back into my life?” Antonia admitted. “Like, I don’t know.”
She then joked that her stubbornness played a role in her hesitation.
“I’m Leo, like I’m very stubborn,” Antonia said. “So I was like, hmm, like I don’t know.”
But once Antonia was around Gia and her sisters again, everything changed.
“After being around you guys, it was just like, oh, you know what I mean?” Antonia said. “It’s like, these are my cousins.”
Antonia explained that reconnecting with the Giudice girls was especially meaningful because they are close in age.
“Especially you guys are my age,” Antonia said. “Like, I don’t have cousins that are my age.”
Gia understood why Antonia felt nervous at first and said it was a completely normal reaction after everything the family had been through.
“I know. And you know, it’s a very normal feeling,” Gia said. “I think everyone was a little uneasy at first.”
Gia then pointed out that the adults seemed to fall back into place much faster than the kids did.
“Obviously our parents, they’re so different,” Gia explained. “They just picked up where they left off.”
Gia recalled finding out that Teresa, Joe and Melissa had met up for breakfast and realizing things must have gone well.
“When my mom had texted me that they were at breakfast at Willow and Whisk, I was like, okay, I go, you’re at Willow and Whisk,” Gia said. “I guess it went perfectly fine. Things are just back to normal now.”
Still, Gia said she understood why the cousins needed a little more time.
“I did understand, like, how it could be a little awkward for the kids at first,” Gia said. “Because it’s hard.”
The conversation between Gia and Antonia showed just how deeply the family feud affected the next generation. While fans often focused on Teresa, Joe and Melissa’s arguments, the cousins were quietly growing up through years of separation, tension and public commentary.
Now, with the family finally in a better place, Gia and Antonia are getting to rebuild a bond that was interrupted by years of adult drama.
