Emily Simpson is being honest about what her weight loss journey looks like now.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star has been open about using GLP-1 medication as part of her transformation, but she says her routine today looks very different than it did when she first started.
After losing roughly 50 pounds, Emily told Us Weekly that she is no longer taking the medication as consistently as she once did. Instead, she now uses it more as a maintenance tool.
“I do still [use a GLP-1, but] not much as I did,” Emily said. “I use it now to just kind of, like, maintain. So I’ll go a few weeks and not use it, and then I’ll feel like I’m starting to gain weight and then I’ll use it again.”
Emily explained that in the beginning, she was taking the medication weekly for about 12 weeks.
“So instead of doing it weekly — which is what I did for, like, 12 weeks. I did it weekly. I was very regimented,” Emily shared.
Now, she says she uses it every few weeks instead.
“Now, I just [use a GLP-1] every few weeks — I guess what they call microdosing, or whatever,” she said. “[I’m on] kind of, like, a maintain kind of system now.”
Emily also admitted she still has about 10 pounds she would like to lose, but she is trying to be mindful about what is realistic and healthy.
The RHOC star said she does not think it is healthy to publicly share a goal weight, adding that she has to ask herself “if my goal weight is reasonable or not.”
“So, like my goal weight is, like, 10 pounds less than what I am now,” Emily said.
While GLP-1 medication has been part of Emily’s weight loss journey, she says her lifestyle has changed in other ways too. She is not following an extreme diet, but she is much more aware of what she is eating.
Emily said she rarely drinks alcohol, aside from the occasional Aperol Spritz when she goes out to dinner.
“I rarely drink, so there’s not a lot of alcohol in my diet,” Emily explained. “I do love a good Aperol Spritz, like every once in a while when I go to dinner, but that’s about it.”
She added that she did not cut everything out of her diet. She still eats regular foods with her kids, including burgers and ice cream, but the difference now is moderation.
“I didn’t really eliminate everything [from my diet],” Emily said. “I still will eat, like, a burger at In-N-Out with the kids. I’ll still have ice cream with the kids. It’s just in moderation, and that was where I always failed before.”
Emily said her biggest issue in the past was mindless eating, especially as a mom of three.
“I was just, you know, mindlessly eating, which I was very guilty of doing, especially when you have three kids that are, like, eating chicken nuggets or eating mac and cheese,” Emily shared.
She explained that she would pick at food throughout the day and then convince herself she had barely eaten anything.
“And I would just, like, pick, you know, and eat [my food],” she said. “And then, at the end of the night, I’d be like, ‘I didn’t eat anything today,’ and of course I did.”

Now, Emily says she is simply more conscious of her habits.
“So now I’m just more conscientious of what I’m eating,” she said.
Emily previously revealed that seeing photos of herself while filming Housewives and Wife Swap was the wake-up call that pushed her to get more serious about her health before turning 50.
“Then I saw some photos of myself with that pig,” Emily recalled. “I was like, ‘Girl, you’re about to turn 50. You need to get your act together.’”
Since then, Emily says the gym has become a major part of her life.
“So I just locked in, and I’ve been in the gym seven days a week for, like, two hours a day nonstop,” she said.
Emily admitted that travel can interrupt her routine, especially when she is away with her kids, but when she is home, the gym is non-negotiable.
“As soon as I get back home I go [to the gym] every day,” Emily said. “It’s therapeutic for me.”
Emily said working out is not even about motivation anymore. It has become something she genuinely wants to do.
“People say, ‘How are you motivated?’ But it’s not motivation because I think motivation means I would have to wake up and, like, talk myself into going — and I don’t have to do that,” Emily explained. “I just immediately want to go.”
For Emily, the gym has become more than a place to exercise. It is also where she gets time to herself away from the chaos of motherhood, marriage and daily life.
“Maybe because there’s so many things in my head and so much things going on with the kids and, like, a marriage and a husband and all the life things that when I go to the gym, it allows me that, you know, couple hours of freedom to just be alone and be with my own thoughts and try to figure things out,” she said.
Emily’s weight loss has been a major topic among RHOC fans, especially as more Bravolebrities continue speaking openly about GLP-1 medications.
