Shannon Beador is opening up about where things stand with Tamra Judge, and it sounds like their friendship is still complicated.
While speaking with Extra’s Terri Seymour alongside Heather Dubrow, Shannon dished on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20, the return of Vicki Gunvalson and the addition of new housewife Carmella Garcia.
Shannon had nothing but praise for Carmella, calling her a “spitfire.”
“I think she’s amazing,” Shannon said. “I mean, she already has iconic lines.”
Shannon then pointed to one moment involving Vicki.
“She said to Vicki, ‘Everyone has an expiration date,’” Shannon shared.
Heather also agreed that Carmella has the right ingredients to make a strong housewife.
“[Carmella] has all the makings of the perfect housewife,” Heather said. “She’s beautiful. She’s wealthy. She’s got a gorgeous family. And she’s not afraid to say anything.”
The conversation then turned to Vicki, who is back this season. Heather noted that fans often refer to herself, Shannon, Tamra and Vicki as RHOC’s “core four.”
“People talk about me and Shannon and Tamra and Vicki as the core four, and this was the first time the core four was together in 10 years,” Heather said.
As for Vicki’s return, Heather teased that things are not completely smooth.
“I think it’s great,” Heather said. “I mean, she and I have a few moments this season, but you’ll have to wait and see that.”
Shannon, meanwhile, made it clear that she and Vicki are still very close.
“I’m very close to her,” Beador said. “We talk almost daily.”
Heather then teased that Shannon may have her own issue with Vicki coming up this season.
“Yes, but you should have an issue with her, which we’ll talk about later,” Heather said.
Shannon agreed, adding, “Oh, it’s coming.”
Of course, the biggest question remains where Shannon and Tamra stand after years of ups and downs.
Shannon admitted that her friendship with Tamra can feel draining because things never seem fully settled.
“Just when you think things are good, and then you wonder if they are,” Shannon said. “You know… it’s just kind of an exhausting journey, but I’m in a place right now where I can be with her and I can have fun.”
Vicki also appears to be caught in the middle as she tries to stay close to both Shannon and Tamra.
When Terri pointed out that Vicki wanted to act as a peacemaker between the two, Shannon acknowledged how difficult that position can be.
“That’s a very awkward position to be [in], in the middle of two friends that don’t get along,” Shannon said. “So, I was willing to brush everything under the rug and keep going.”
Heather also opened up about a personal storyline this season involving her mother moving from New York City to be closer to her family.
“It’s just so crazy, like, at 84 to pack up and move across the country,” Heather said. “Which makes sense because me and my sister are out here and obviously you want to be able to help her and take care of her.”
Heather made it clear that her mother is not exactly slowing down.
“But she’s very independent,” Heather said. “She’s fabulous and she has a very strong opinions on things.”
Between Carmella making a bold entrance, Vicki returning to the group and Shannon and Tamra still trying to navigate their complicated friendship, RHOC Season 20 is bringing plenty of drama.
