Andy Cohen is teasing the upcoming Next Gen NYC reunion, and it sounds like the moment was more emotional than he expected.
During today’s episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, Andy opened up about filming the reunion and shared how the special brought him full circle with several iconic Real Housewives families.
“I shot the Next Gen NYC reunion last Thursday,” Andy said. “Let me say this. It was such a full circle moment for me.”
Andy explained that sitting next to Ariana Biermann at her first reunion reminded him of sitting next to Ariana’s mom, Kim Zolciak, at one of the earliest Real Housewives reunions nearly two decades ago.
“Specifically, 18 years ago, I sat next to Kim Zolciak at her first reunion, and one of my first reunions, and now, all these years later, I’m sitting next to Ariana Biermann, her daughter, at her first reunion, and it was just crazy,” Andy shared.
The reunion clearly brought out some nostalgia for Andy, who said he was even giving updates to the famous moms during the lunch break.
“I texted Kim. I texted Kandi. I was giving the moms reports at lunch break about how their kids were doing,” Andy revealed.
Next Gen NYC features several children of Bravo stars, including Ariana Biermann, daughter of Kim Zolciak; Riley Burruss, daughter of Kandi Burruss; Gia Giudice, daughter of Teresa Giudice; and Brooks Marks, son of Meredith Marks.
Andy also shared a funny moment involving Gia, who FaceTimed her mom Teresa Giudice during the reunion.
“Gia at one point was FaceTiming Teresa and I went over and talked to Teresa and Teresa, I go, ‘Wait a minute,’” Andy recalled.
Andy said he was shocked to see Teresa without glam.
“I said, ‘Do you have any makeup on?’ She said, ‘No, I have not a stitch of makeup,’” Andy said. “I said, ‘Do you know this may be one of the first times I’ve ever seen you without makeup in the whole time I’ve known you?’”
Andy then revealed he actually loved the more natural look on Teresa.
“She looked so good without makeup,” Andy said. “I go, ‘Teresa, I think you need a make under. This is a good look for you.’”
Andy described the overall experience as sweet, especially because of how connected the show is to the larger Housewives universe.
“Anyway, it was very sweet and I took a selfie with the kids,” Andy said.
He also revealed that he started a group text with some of the famous moms whose children are now part of Next Gen NYC.
“I started a text chain with me and Meredith and Kandi and Teresa and Kim,” Andy shared.
Andy then realized the group chat included Kim Zolciak and Kandi Burruss, whose history on The Real Housewives of Atlanta has been anything but simple.
“And then I was like, ‘Ooh, Kim and Kandi are on the same text chain right now. That’s interesting,’” Andy joked.
Still, Andy said the entire moment felt positive.
“But it was very cute,” he added. “It was really sweet.”
The Next Gen NYC reunion is already shaping up to be a major moment for Bravo fans, especially because the show brings together the next generation of Housewives-connected stars.
