Alexia Umansky is responding to critics who say her career was handed to her because of her famous parents.
The daughter of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards and real estate mogul Mauricio Umansky took to TikTok to address the “nepo baby” comments she receives online, especially from people who claim her father gave her everything.
Alexia made it clear that she is aware of the privilege that comes with her last name, but she also questioned why strangers feel the need to constantly remind her of it.
“I have a genuine question for a certain group of people out there,” Alexia said in an TikTok video. “When you guys say to me, ‘Your daddy gave you everything. You didn’t need to work hard. You didn’t earn any of this,’ and so on and so forth, I genuinely just want to know why people feel the need to remind me of all of those things.”
Alexia then acknowledged the label directly.
“Because I just want to share with you guys that I’m very aware that I am a nepo baby,” she continued. “I know that very, very much. … But does it make you guys feel good to call my dad, daddy? Does that make you feel like that’s going to make me feel small? I’m just trying to grasp why people feel the need to tell me that.”
Alexia, who works in real estate alongside Mauricio and her sister Farrah Brittany, said the criticism has taken an emotional toll on her.
“You don’t think I feel the pressure that people look at me and think this was handed to me on a silver platter? This is a battle I’ve had to overcome in therapy,” she shared.
The Buying Beverly Hills star explained that the fear of being judged as Mauricio’s daughter actually made her hesitant to enter real estate in the first place.
“I really didn’t want to join real estate. Not because I didn’t want to join real estate or because I don’t love the business. I love real estate, and I love the business. I love working with my dad. I love working with my sister. But I didn’t want to join because of this exact reason. I knew people would be all over me about it.”
Alexia said she knew people would question her accomplishments and minimize her work no matter how much effort she put in.
“They would undermine what I do for as long as they can. I decided to join real estate when I was 22 years old. I just turned 30 last week,” she said. “So another question for you: When will it be enough? Will it ever be enough?”

She ended by reminding critics that she knows exactly what people say about her — but she chose her career and reality TV because she genuinely loves both.
“I just want to remind you that I know. I know. I do real estate with my dad. I did reality TV like my mom, and I chose to do those things because I love those things.”
Alexia has grown up in the Bravo spotlight, with RHOBH fans watching Kyle and Mauricio’s family for years. As an adult, she stepped into her own reality TV career on Buying Beverly Hills, where viewers saw her working at The Agency and trying to prove herself in the family business.
