West Wilson is still processing the brutal read Dara Levitan gave him at the Summer House reunion.
The Summer House star opened up on the Friday, June 5 episode of his Show Me Something podcast, where he admitted that Dara’s comments about his dating patterns have stuck with him since the reunion filmed.
West has been at the center of the Season 10 reunion after confirming his relationship with Amanda Batula in March. The romance shocked the cast because Amanda had recently separated from husband Kyle Cooke, while West previously dated Ciara Miller. Throughout the reunion, West and Amanda were forced to explain their timeline and defend their connection in front of both of their exes.
But one of the moments that hit West the hardest came from Dara, someone he had previously dated and remained friends with.
“I think the reunion is good for people to just get s*** off their chest,” West said. “Dara, I’ve known her for a long time. Obviously, it hurts a little more to have a friend, like, really f***ing cook you like that in that moment.”
West then admitted just how much Dara’s words affected him.
“I’ve thought about it probably every f*cking day since then,” he said.
Dara appeared during part two of the Summer House Season 10 reunion, which aired on Tuesday, June 2. Because she had both a romantic history and a friendship with West, Dara gave a very direct take on how she sees his patterns with women.
“I’m gonna be honest, West, I don’t see you suddenly waking up one day and this is gonna be the relationship that you stand up for and man up for. You like people to think of you as a good guy, but you treat the women that give themselves to you like they’re expendable.”
Dara then turned her attention to Amanda and warned her about what she believes is West’s biggest pattern.
“I guess I would just reiterate to you that the biggest pattern in his life is that it is the West show and it will always be the West show,” Dara told Amanda. “The biggest concern of his, consistently, is being well-liked and well-received. He doesn’t prioritize treating the women he is linked to romantically with the respect that he does anybody else in his life.”
She continued, “I just foresee him, for a very long time, wanting someone who will mold and fold and fit into his life without excuse or complaint. It’s up to you to decide what’s worth sacrificing for that kind of person.”
West said he is not trying to deny that he has hurt people in past relationships.
“I haven’t run away from my bad communication style or dating history. It has not been clean in a long time,” he said. “She’s valid for calling me out in that capacity, because, yeah, I’ve dated casually and hurt people.”
West explained that Dara’s comments affected him because she has seen him from more than one angle. She was not just a random castmate weighing in. She was someone who had been both romantically involved with him and close to him as a friend.
“That one did stick out to me, honestly, a lot because I was like, ‘Oh, this is someone who I’ve been romantic with and been friends with,’” West said. “To have them just give me the full scope of what that reads like to someone who’s been a part of it in all facets, that’s a lot to take in.”
Dara’s comments came during an already emotional reunion for West, Amanda, Ciara and Kyle. Ciara has made it clear that she felt betrayed by both West and Amanda, while Kyle has had to process Amanda moving on with someone from their inner circle.
