Stassi Schroeder is opening up about where she stands with Katie Maloney, and it turns out their friendship quietly went through a major rough patch.
In a new interview with Marie Claire, Stassi revealed that the two were not always on good terms, despite their long history together.
“No one knows that we had a falling out for years,” she said. “Now we’re rebuilding our friendship after growing in two completely different directions.”
According to Stassi, that evolution is something she plans to explore more deeply in her upcoming show, which will focus less on chaos and more on real life transitions.
“I don’t see TV shows out there that explore how when you get to a certain age and you all choose different paths in life, how that affects your friendships and then how you come back together,” she explained.
She also made it clear that viewers will be seeing a very different version of her compared to her early reality TV days.
“People have seen my lowest moments, my highest moments, all of it,” she said. “This is the first time they’re seeing what my life is actually like now.”
That includes not only her personal growth but also how her relationships have changed over time, including with Katie.
Stassi emphasized that her new show will reflect a more grounded and realistic version of adulthood.
“We’re starving for something that’s not just aspirational or depressing,” she said. “This is what it’s really like when you grow up.”
While she admits she is still the same person at her core, she acknowledges that growth has shifted how she handles things.
“I still crash out. It just looks different.”
She also reflected on how stepping away from reality TV impacted her personally.
“There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about the canceling,” she said. “I will live with this for the rest of my life.”
Looking back, she believes that time away changed her in a meaningful way.
“If I were still in Vanderpump Rules, I’d probably be the same person,” she added. “This time away from reality TV has shaped who I am now.”
As for her friendship with Katie, it seems the two are in a new phase — one that acknowledges their past while trying to move forward.
