Gia Giudice and Joe Gorga Re-Follow Each Other on Instagram After Reported Reconciliation

The social media universe of The Real Housewives of New Jersey just got a major ripple when Gia Giudice quietly re-followed her uncle Joe Gorga, and even went a step further by liking one of his latest posts.

On the surface, it might seem like a simple gesture. But in the world of the Gorga-Giudice clan, this is far from trivial. Considering the fraught history between Gia and Joe, this move could signal the first real thaw in a long-standing family feud.

Gia’s history with Joe Gorga has been rocky, to say the least. Over the years, she has publicly pushed back against her uncle, especially when he made disparaging remarks about her father, Joe Giudice.

At the Season 12 premiere of RHONJ, Gia didn’t mince words, telling Joe that she wouldn’t be spoken to “like that,” asserting that she is an adult who deserves respect. Social media has also been a battlefield, with Gia calling out Joe in the past for posts she considered opportunistic, pointing out that he had spent barely any time with her father but was using the moment for clout. This recent follow-and-like, then, is not a casual social media move—it’s a subtle, public olive branch.

Adding another layer to this development is the fact that Joe Gorga and Teresa Giudice have been speaking more openly about reconciliation. Joe recently admitted that he has been hurt by the estrangement from his sister but expressed a desire to mend fences. “I’m always going to be worried about my sister,” he said, reflecting on the broken relationship.

He also acknowledged that Teresa had reached out to him, hinting at the possibility of a meaningful conversation if both parties approached it with humility and accountability. Teresa, who previously stated that the chapter with her brother was closed, has signaled that she’s not entirely opposed to reconnecting. “Never say never,” she hinted in recent interviews, suggesting that time and reflection may have softened her stance.

Gia’s social media move is particularly notable in this context. By re-following Joe and liking his post, she is publicly signaling that she is open to engagement, subtly endorsing a step toward family healing. This is especially meaningful given Gia’s protective stance toward her father; any gesture of goodwill toward Joe represents a significant personal step. For fans of RHONJ, this could mark a subtle yet monumental shift in the family dynamics that have driven much of the show’s drama over the years.

Of course, a single follow and like does not equal full reconciliation. The road ahead is still fragile, and family healing requires more than social media gestures. If Joe and Teresa move toward a true reconciliation, and Gia continues to engage with Joe publicly, fans may be witnessing the beginning of a dramatic, heartwarming shift for the Gorga-Giudice clan. Important to note that Gia and Melissa have yet to follow each other. Louie Ruelas and Joe Gorga both follow each other.

In short, this is a big deal. Whether it signals genuine reconciliation or simply a cautious truce, it’s the kind of move that could reshape the RHONJ family narrative—and keep fans glued to their screens for what comes next.

I'm happy for them all but if I were Joe & Melissa, I'd keep one eye open.

I don’t care if the making up is because they all want to go back to work. I’m just glad they’re trying to thaw the chill in the family. I’m not confident that Joe will do what needs to be done, and I’m sure that wife of his won’t help either, but if Tre can accept them not being as close as they once were, and stops expecting Joe to give her the relationship she wants, it may just work out. The Gorgas have hurt Tre a lot, though they pretend it’s the other way way around, and we never hear them admit to any wrong-doing. I think Teresa is always the one to mourn the death of their relationship while the Gorgas seem very happy to go on ignoring-as long as they still have a spot on the show.

The Gorgas have to stop going after Teresa's husband. And they have to stop supporting those that go after her husband. Because we have seen them on camera do exactly this very thing. Not nice.

Awww, look at Gia being a good little soldier doing her part to try and help mommy secure her spot on the show.

I just want them All to be good . Let it all go. They have all been to blame. Just make up , let the past stay there. And don’t let anyone get in your heads

I do too but it's sad that the only reason they are making up is for all of them to be on a tv show.

Ok, I HATE to admit this, but this kinda sorta tugs a lil’ bit (a VERY little bit) on my heartstrings cuz I do hate to see famblies estranged. (Yes, underneath my B*TCHY exterior is an actual human heart. <— That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. ?).

Good for you. I can already see that I'm not into it all this year. I'll be doing the bare minimum; "Hello (hug hug kiss kiss) ... nice seeing you ... bye".

I feel like the spirit and and fun is gone (just like life in general), especially since losing all my family's elders. Plus everyone's immediate families have gotten so large, it's just not practical for us all to get together anymore (which kind of leaves childless people like me in the dust). Also, I think politics is dividing a lot of the cousins as well.

I prefer smaller gatherings of like minded people (or at least people who have the common decency and basic manners to leave their differences at the doorstep for AT LEAST a couple of damn hours.?) That’s WAY more likely to happen with smaller numbers whether it’s two, four, six or even just one. The peace that it brings is a blessing in itself and something to be thankful for imo. Yes, it’s disappointing that it should even have to be regarded as such, but in these dark times, squeeze every drop of joy outta life you can and look at every moment of relative peace as a blessing cuz I believe it’s gonna get worse, WAY worse before it gets better. ?

I distinctly remember as a kid my grandparents suddenly bowing out of many family get-togethers. To my parents and aunts and uncle's dismay, suddenly THEIR parents were no longer hosting the family for holidays, gift exchanges or anything. When I asked why, Grandma said "Christmas is for kids". I didn't understand it then, but I get it now. Man did we miss those Italian cookies!

Admittedly, I can't leave it at the doorstep (shocker I know:-). Life is too short to be spending precious time with those whom you so vehemently disagree with, and that includes family. On an unrelated topic, I remember as a kid my grandparents suddenly bowing out of many family get-togethers. Suddenly were no longer hosting the family for holidays, gift exchanges or anything. Awww, maybe they just needed a rest from hosting because they were getting older. Christmas is for everyone! BTW, I had a relative just say this to me. What does that mean? Those without kids are excluded? Nope...it's for everyone and I corrected them right fast.

I think childless uncles, cousins whatever are always welcome because they bring the fun!! No problem with big families either...just meet up on different days during Christmas week. As for politics...don't discuss it. Change the subject. Do whatever it takes to avoid it. There. Done. ?

We avoid politics (with mixed company), but knowing what we know, it's awfully hard to just ignore it certain SM posts etc;. Last year, I said to a particular cousin ... "You know we see your SM posts, right?". After an initial look of horror, he tried to backpedal a little, but it was a fail. It's been strained ever since.

I hope it works for all of them. If it does, then it sets an example for others who are estranged from family members because of the lousy things they've done to loved ones in the past. Sometimes, you just have to move on especially for the children as hard as it may be.

I agree although the following / unfollowing etc when it was fractured family - I could do without all that intel but I guess it comes with this territory . I just hope they all learn to prioritize the family aspect ; not the Marge’s , the haters / fans etc input and opinions . I think that added fuel to the fire over the years . Communicate , no grudges, no tit for tat at least not publicly anymore!
Tim November 11, 2025 - 2:08 pm
The only problem with all that is that this family was already fractured way before the tv show even existed. Teresa always hated Melissa and has been trying to break her and Joey up even before they got married.
michers November 11, 2025 - 3:47 pm
That’s true but the “ tv” started a runaway train
michers November 11, 2025 - 3:51 pm
Not true for me about breaking them up . I don’t think Teresa wanted that . I think she wanted her parents to be ok with whole thing , she felt big sis pressure , he didn’t prioritize or respect his parents / rest of fam especially after getting fame off sis coattails as we clearly saw . Anyway your opinion , that’s mine :)
Zap It November 11, 2025 - 2:18 pm
True. Kathy Hilton said the same thing about the rift between her and Kyle...a lot of people in their circle who added fuel to the fire.
