Emily Simpson is no stranger to sharing her opinions on Real Housewives of Orange County castmates. Whether it’s about personal choices or cast drama, Emily isn’t shy about speaking up. But when it comes to fashion, it’s not typically her lane to criticize, which makes her recent comments about Gretchen Rossi’s wardrobe all the more noteworthy.
Emily recently described co-star Gretchen Rossi’s outfits as “costumes,” pointing out one look that “looks very ‘Little House on the Prairie.’ Like, I thought she was gonna get in a covered wagon and leave the argument.” It’s the kind of bold style Gretchen rocks with confidence, regardless of what anyone else thinks.
Another standout look was described by Emily as “a mix between Hamburglar and Sherlock Holmes.” While these remarks sound like shade, Emily laughs that she and Gretchen have a playful rapport about it telling Page Six, “I say these things to her. Like, we joke. She’ll even make jokes when she puts something on and she’s like, ‘I knew Emily was going to say something.’ Like, you bet I am! It’s fun.”
Interestingly, while Emily isn’t sold on Gretchen’s fashion, she has nothing but admiration for her signature platinum blonde hair.
“It does look healthy. She does have good blond [hair]. You never can see regrowth. I don’t understand that! She must color it weekly because I don’t know how you don’t get any kind of regrowth.” Even so, she can’t resist a little playful jab: “And it doesn’t move! I make fun of it. I call it, like, a helmet. It’s like a Lego, like you just put the hair on. You just wake up, put your Lego hair on all day and it doesn’t move.”
Still, Emily admits, “I think it looks good.”
