Mia Thornton Announces Exit From The Real Housewives of Potomac: “I Don’t Just Make Headlines — I Make History.”

After four seasons of glam, and drama, Mia Thornton has officially announced her departure from The Real Housewives of Potomac. In a Instagram post accompanied by a over the top photoshoot, the RHOP star revealed she’s turning the page on her Potomac chapter and heading down south.

“With every new season comes a new beginning and I have some news to share,” Thornton wrote. “My family and I have made the decision to relocate to Atlanta, and with that, I will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac next season.”

Mia Thornton joined RHOP in Season 6 and made waves with her bold personality, business savvy, and candid approach to, well… just about everything. From clashes with costars to explosive reunions, she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind — and fans noticed.

But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. Mia Thornton’s time on the show was often mired in controversy. Throughout her RHOP tenure, she faced questions about her businesses, transparency regarding her finances, and the evolution of her friendship-turned-feud with fellow cast member Wendy Osefo. Most notably, Season 7 saw a headline-making physical altercation between Mia and Wendy during the cast’s trip to Miami — a moment that sparked intense viewer backlash and reignited conversations about accountability in the Housewives universe.

Still, through the ups and downs, Mia remained a commanding presence on-screen, and she leaves with gratitude — and plenty of flair.

“The past four seasons have been an unforgettable journey — one filled with growth, lessons, and so many incredible memories,” she continued. “I want to thank Truly Original, Bravo, NBCUniversal, and Andy Cohen for believing in me and giving me the space to share my story.
To my castmates: thank you for the laughs, the lessons, and the unforgettable moments.
And to the amazing fans, your love and support has meant everything to me. I’ll always carry that with me.”

In true Mia fashion, she ended her announcement with some signature confidence — and a hint that her story is far from over.

“This next chapter is already full of exciting opportunities, and I can’t wait to take you all along for the ride. Big things are coming…”

“I don’t just make headlines — I make History. Atlanta, brace yourself. The empire has expanded. #LegacyInTheMaking.”

“Not just a headline — I am THE STORY. ?? The Countdown has begun. Power. Presence. Purpose.”

No word yet if this was a firing or Mia quitting on her own.

Probably wasn't offered a contract and that's why she's moving out of state to Hotlanta.

Did she really have to make it a moment? Mia is going to try and get on season 17 of RHOA Watch!! She made this past season of RHOP almost intolerable.

This trick's assuredness and confidence borders on egotism, hubris, and phony pretension. Before she get's too excited about opening a brothel, someone needs to let her know that prostitution is illegal in GA. The Peach State haven't even legalized weed. Am I right Champs?

Yeah, other than the hemp variety that I believe is legal in all 50 states, weed is still illegal in Ga. There are certain medical exceptions but I’m not sure about the deets and if I’m not mistaken, it’s highly controlled. I think my sister obtained some THC in pill form a few years back that was prescription for pain I believe, not really sure why…???? but as far as I know, we don’t even have dispensaries. As I understand it, a physician can prescribe the THC in pill form, but it comes from a pharmacy. Not ? sure about any other legal form (besides hemp) and where you get it. ????

I hope you never get them. This sh hole blue city where I live has dispensaries weed dealers on every street corner, even in the nicest parts of town (which look like exclusive spas). Amazing how their parking lots start filling up early on Friday and Saturday nights. Apparently that's when people's "pain" sets in. https://media2.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTg5OGZmOWM5enZwYWZ2eGE3M2Vtc2M0aTVwcm9oNnUyc2UxcTIwN3p3em90YTc3dCZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/26ufbY3nKMKybIzg4/giphy-downsized-small.mp4

I think the way it is is just fine. I’m not against weed, but with the hemp derived THC (which I get is pussified / weak weed) and the legal prescriptions in pill form, what need is there for out and out legalization? All bases are already covered imo. Now if legalization what the majority want, so be it. I don’t care either way, but it exceeds what is necessary imo. However, I’ll concede I’m an old bat, so I’m full on OVER getting drunk, high, partying and the like. So…?

The medical aspect of CBD is just a ruse. I believe the easy accessibility (dispensaries on every block) is bad for the country. The collective "we" are already, stupid, lazy, and fat enough. Half of our city is walking around stoned out of their gourdes, and trust a former stoner ... I can spot them a mile away. Countless lot (young) people are being reminded that although it's been decriminalized (legalized), driving under the influence will still land your ass in jail.

I was just thinking that, how dopey and stupid it makes people even ones who aren’t dopey and stupid to begin with, like my cousin in NJ (don’t know if it’s legal there but if not, that doesn’t stop him?), brilliant mind and talented guy but acting a fool cuz he’s stoned 24/7. Broke my heart when I saw it first hand. So, I get what you’re saying. HOWEVER, it’s still FAR safer than alcohol, though. No known toxicity level, and withdrawals (if that’s even a real issue) won’t kill you. Not so with alcohol!!! You can both die from alcohol poisoning AND from withdrawals. So, I’m VERY meh about legalization but don’t see the point cuz it’s pretty much legal with the hemp derived variety and prescription route even if we don’t have dispensaries on every street corner. ?

Hemp oils and even THC-loaded gummies for (occasional) recreational use, whatevs ... but God didn't create our lungs to withstand burning toxins/chemicals (in the form of ciggies and/or doobies). Also, going through life in an altered state (no mater what the poison is) is probably not the best way to live, doncha think?
Champagne Hangover April 21, 2025 - 6:11 pm
I agree with that entirely and even those hemp derived THC gummies are effin’ no JOKE! ? I’m telling you, I’ve tried them before and you’re gonna be good and toasted for 5 or 6 hrs. I know they’re supposed to be not as strong or whatever but that’s straight up BS! ? I was in AGONY from arthritis when traveling to my nephew’s medical school graduation, and my sister gave me one on the flight there. I was EFFED UP by the time we landed in Boston, EFFED UP. My brother was NOT feeling my vibe on the drive to New Hampshire ???. He’s apparently very much against that stuff and there was just NO hiding it! I was zonked! So, never again in public. Nope ?
