What followed was a candid exchange where Rinna owned up to her words, admitted her mistake, and offered a public apology—demonstrating a side of the former “Housewife” that fans don’t always get to see.
The apology came after Andy Cohen questioned Rinna about her comments on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, particularly where she described the show as “the Titanic.” He asked her, “Why are you saying that the show is the Titanic? You did a podcast last week. You mouth off.” In response, Rinna quipped, “Hello, have you met me?” But the tone shifted when Cohen pressed her further, noting that she had distanced herself from the show.
Rinna acknowledged her mistake, saying, “I’m sorry I hurt your feelings.” She explained that Erika Jayne had mentioned the impact of her words on Cohen, and added, “I went to see ‘Chicago.’” Cohen, probing further, asked if Erika also told Rinna that she had hurt her feelings. Rinna responded with a simple, “No,” before admitting, “Maybe, and I told her I was sorry.”
It wasn’t just about her comments on the show. Rinna reflected on the impact of her words, saying, “I misused my words. It’s not that.” She clarified, “That show’s gonna go on and on and on. I misused my words,” attempting to explain the context behind the “sinking ship” analogy. When Cohen asked if she really meant to compare the show to the Titanic, Rinna admitted, “I meant to say Titanic, and I said it and I’m sorry I hurt your feelings. Let’s move on.”
Despite her acknowledgment of the slip-up, Cohen pointed out that her apology seemed like a classic “Housewives” non-apology. He said, “That was a little bit of an old school housewife apology.” Rinna, ever straightforward, responded with a laugh, “I know. It was?”
While the conversation may have started tense, it ended on a lighter note with Rinna asserting that she still has a strong bond with her former castmates. She shared, “I’m still buddies with those ladies. We all bonded. We’ve kept it up. I see them, I talk to them a lot and period. End of story. It’s the truth.”
